Yesterday, the Consulate General of Guyana in New York participated in the Schenectady Caribbean Day Festival, held at Central Park in Schenectady, New York.

This event brought together members of the Caribbean Community in a vibrant celebration of our rich cultures, traditions, music, food, and heritage.

In attendance were the Hon. Zulfikar Ally, Minister of Public Service, Government Efficiency and Implementation, Amb. Michael E. Brotherson, Consul General of Guyana in New York, Mr. Fazal Yussuff, Advisor on Investment & Diaspora Affairs, Staff of the Consulate General of Guyana and scores of Guyanese from the five boroughs of New York.

Today the Honourable Steven Jacobs, Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport, and Ambassador Michael E. Brotherson and representatives from the Consulate General of Guyana in New York attended the annual VIP breakfast hosted by the West Indian American Day Carnival Association.During the event, the Honourable Minister engaged with members of the Caribbean Consular Corps, distinguished State and City Officials, and prominent leaders within the Caribbean diaspora.

Yesterday, the Consulate General of Guyana, New York participated in the the Guyana Folk Festival &Family Fun Day 2026, hosted by the Guyana Cultural Association of New York, Inc. at the South Shore High School in Brooklyn. In attendance were, Hon. Steven Jacobs, Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Ambassador Michael E.Brotherson, Consul General of Guyana in New York , State Senator Roxanne J. Persaud and other City and State Officials

Ambassador Michael E. Brotherson, Consul General of Guyana in New York celebrated Raksha Bandhan with the sisters from the Brahma Kumaris World Sprititual University, Office for the United Nations yesterday.

The Sisters thanked Ambassador Brotherson for receiving them.

Raksha Bandhan symbolises love and devotion between brothers and sisters.
