Roosevelt Network

Roosevelt Network Recently, too many young people have started to give up on using their voice to shape our future. Not us. You’re now a part of that.

The Roosevelt Network trains, develops, and supports emerging progressive policymakers, researchers, and advocates by connecting and organizing college students and program alumni on campuses and cities across nearly 40 states nationwide. We write and enact ideas that expand access to power and prosperity -- encouraging new voices and new rules. Whether 17 or 70, Roosevelt exists to fi

nd, nurture, and curate the finest minds, supporting their work on the biggest problems – and solutions. We offer them a lifelong intellectual home and the opportunity to create change now and as your careers progress. Some idealists fade into the shadows when the going gets tough. Others remain so attached to their lofty dreams that they stay stuck in the clouds. We know exactly what effective aspirations look like: we draw daily inspiration not just from the ideals Franklin and Eleanor believed in, but the tenacity it took to achieve them.

Network 2.0 Fellowship Applications are Officially Open!

The Roosevelt Network is opening applications for two undergraduate fellowship experiences: the Roosevelt in Washington Fellowship and the Emerging Fellowship.

https://rooseveltinstitute.org/roosevelt-network/undergraduate-fellowships/

If you’ve ever wanted to witness how policy is researched, debated, designed, and advocated for in the real world, then Roosevelt in Washington is for you!

If you’re a public policy wonk, contemplating pursuing a policy-related graduate degree, or looking for an independent research opportunity, check out the Emerging Fellowship!

Both opportunities are PAID, include MENTORSHIP, and you’ll LEVEL-UP your credentials for a career in the progressive movement. Current Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are eligible to apply (current seniors only eligible for Emerging).

Have Questions? Join us for an information session tomorrow 11/16 at 12:00pmEST or 6:00pmEST

Have you heard about Network 2.0 yet!?

This evolution situates the Network as the entry point of the Roosevelt Institute’s progressive pipelining project.

As the entry point for the organization’s new pipeline development plans, Network 2.0 is a revamped model for supporting and training undergraduate college students and early career professionals—centering those who hold identities historically denied political power.

Network 2.0 will:
- Provide transformative Fellowships for current undergraduate students
- Reposition alumni as participants of the Network rather than graduates of it
- Build Roosevelters’ capacity to be in deep community with one another: to call on their fellow Roosevelters for lifelong personal and professional support

🚨 Calling all alums 🚨 It’s time to register for Alumni @ Hyde Park local events! You can join us on Saturday, August 27th in person in Boston, NYC, DC, and Chicago OR join us virtually.

For those attending in each city, we’ll follow up with information about your venue soon. We’ll be holding the events from around 2-4pm local time (might change a little based on the venues) and the agenda is as follows:

- Welcome
- Happy Hour
- Alumni Panel
- Community Building Activity
- Strategic Planning Update
- Closing Call to Action

We know that these events aren’t the same as returning to the Hudson Valley, but we hope that this approach will balance everyone’s health and safety while still allowing us to bring our community together again.

Fighting for economic justice must involve fixing our tax system so the rich and wealthy pay their fair share.

The tax would have hit 700 billionaires like Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, compelling them to pay a chunk of their wealth to the federal government.

Handouts to fossil fuels have no place in climate policy.

"Congress and the president should not throw frontline communities living with fossil fuel extraction and climate crisis under the bus to get this bill across the finish line."
