"Monrovians...
The 40th annual MONROE CAMPUS COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER FOR THE HUNGRY AND HOMELESS will be held on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 25 at the Monroe building, 1300 Boynton Avenue, from 4 p.m. until food runs out. Every year, we feed between 300-400 men, women, and children. If YOU would like to be part of this annual event, plan to bring a COOKED DISH in a foil pan by 2 p.m. on November 25. If you're interested in making a financial contribution, you can contact Tom Porton at [email protected]. Looking forward to many alumni coming and helping at this year's dinner!!!!"

Our 5th annual BBQ reunion is in the history books. And a successful one it was!
We had a great turn out this year - you all made it possible with your contributions and donations. And the love and positive energy you brought with you was felt by everyone in attendance. Thank you so much Eagles. YOU ROCK!!
Special thanks to DJ Karim for being the perfect soundtrack for our 5th annual. He overcame every possible obstacle and pressed his way for us. We appreciate you brother!
And a special shout out to an alum who by far wins the award for 'Most Seasoned Eagle' Karl Drobitsky who graduated Monroe in 1955!! Not only did he come, but he got there earlier than 12 (along with Jorge Mercado) and helped the committee set up. Karl, you were awesome. Thank you! Eagles from the 60's were also in attendance. There was so much generational Monroe love!

And most importantly, to the most amazing planning committee on this side of heaven, working with no operating budget, working tirelessly, working through personal tragedies...the phenomenal A-Team!! You ladies again gave of yourselves, dedicating time, energy and money to make this event possible. If folks knew what it took to pull this reunion off this year...they would agree that it was nothing short of a miracle. But we do it out of love for our Alma Mater. Even down to loaning our friends and loved ones to help set up and work on the grill (thanks Earl & papa Soti!). Once again ladies, THANK YOU for all you do. Job well done. 👏👏👏

The forecast for tomorrow: Sun all day!! It will be a very comfortable 80 degrees with no humidity. Mother nature is definitely making up for what she did to us last year. Looking forward to enjoying the day, Eagles style!

Preparing for tomorrow:
-DO NOT come empty handed!
-We will be set up in the BBQ area as soon as you come through the parking plaza. We'll be on the left hand side towards the center. Look for red & yellow balloons.
-Parking is $8.
-Bring chairs or blankets for sitting.
-DO NOT come empty handed!
-Cellular reception is very weak at Orchard. If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to Ebony King-Alexander TODAY via inbox. Or leave your question in the comment section below.
-If you are bringing children, there will be a face painter/balloon twister on location for a LIMITED time from 2-4pm. There will also be an arts and crafts table set up during this time slot.
-And lastly, please DO NOT come empty handed! This is a free event. But we need donations to make it possible. We still need burgers and buns, meat for the grill (partially cooked), potato/macaroni salad, condiments, water, and desserts. We will not need cash tomorrow. We'll need THINGS.

This is a tough one...

Sad to report that one of our own, Derrick "Puff" Mack has transitioned into eternity. He has been a faithful member of the Monroe community for many years. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
