On April 18, 1926, Paramahansa Yogananda led an audience of thousands in the art of devotional chanting he brought from India. Though unfamiliar with the practice, the audience at Carnegie Hall was swept up in the chanting’s universal power and appeal. For one hour and twenty-five minutes, thousands of souls joined their voices in unity, moved by the deep spiritual transformation they experienced.
This April, monks of Self-Realization Fellowship will lead an evening of music, chanting, and meditation at this iconic venue — an opportunity to experience the sacred inspiration Paramahansa Yogananda first shared with his Western audiences a century ago.
Join us April 18, 2026, for an evening that bridges eras, hearts, and worlds. We invite you to learn more and reserve your seats: yogananda.org/the-divine-art-of-music

Experience a historic musical homecoming, marking 100 years since Paramahansa Yogananda introduced America to the power of Indian devotional chanting at one of the world’s most iconic venues, Carnegie Hall.

Let us know you’re coming! REGISTER NOW for our
November 8th silent retreat virtually led by Self-Realization Fellowship monastic
Bro. Satyananda titled “Pursuing Pratyahara” by clicking the link HERE.
Experience spiritual fellowship on a deeper level.
Join us for deep stillness and meditation.

Pratyahara, as outlined by the ancient sage Patanjali and recounted in the SRF Lessons by Paramahansa Yogananda,
means interiorization of the mind. This retreat will focus on how we can achieve this “withdrawal of consciousness
from the senses” in meditation — and thereby deepen our sadhana and experience of God.

The retreat will include:

🪷Group practice of the Energization Exercises

🪷A long period of meditation

🪷And periods of chanting

🪷Come prepared to sit still in deep silence.

Please note:

There will be a 35-minute intermission at 3:55pm. The 3rd floor will be open for
those who would like to bring a snack to have at that time.

In order to preserve the peace of those who have already passed hours in deep
meditation, we kindly ask anyone arriving during or after the period of chanting at
3:05 pm to join us in the 2nd floor chapel and remain there until the intermission.
