Con solo 12 años, Maximiliano sobrevivió al derrumbe de su edificio en La Guaira. Hoy su hogar es una carpa… pero cada tarde juega fútbol con su primo, y la sonrisa volvió a su rostro. ⚽

Por eso le pedimos a que lo invite a la Final del Mundial: para ser la voz de todos los niños venezolanos que sobrevivieron al terremoto, dar las gracias al mundo por su apoyo y recordarnos que todavía nos necesitan.

Ya tiene su pasaporte. Su mamá está lista para acompañarlo. Pero el tiempo se acaba.

Maximiliano is 12 years old and lives in La Guaira, Venezuela. He was rescued from the rubble of his apartment building. Today, his family sleeps with him in a tent. Every day, he and his cousin play soccer on an improvised field and laugh again.

We want to invite Maximiliano to the FIFA World Cup Final to represent all Venezuelan children who survived the earthquakes in Venezuela, thank the world for its support, and remind everyone that children still need our help. There are only a few hours left. His passport is ready, and his mother is ready to travel with him.

Thursday night felt less like a gala and more like a reckoning.

A Place at the Table 2026 raised over $3M for LGBTQ+ youth navigating homelessness in New York City. The real ROI was the energy in the room: a shared refusal to settle for performative support.

We spent the evening in conversations around dignity, visibility, and what it actually looks like to build sanctuary for young people in a world that too often looks away. Still processing the magnitude of it all, honestly.

Chapeau to Kim, Travis, Dev, Julian, and our entire Development team for driving such a historic milestone for our organization.

To everyone who brought their partnership, presence, resources, and heart into that room, thank you for proving that community isn’t a buzzword.

It’s an investment.

The work is only accelerating. Let’s keep this energy!!
