During the month of March, we celebrate civic engagement across the early college network by highlighting some of the work of our students, faculty, and staff around advocacy, policy, and community engagement.

This year, the Bard community has participated in advocacy efforts with New York State officials, volunteered time with community organizations, hosted a voter registration drive, kickstarted school-wide food waste initiatives, and sat in on arguments at the United States Supreme Court. This is just a small sample of the incredible civic engagement we see in our schools every day.

A generous group of BHSEC parents and alumni/ae have set a new challenge for us this year — if we can raise $45,000 by November 13th, they will match it!

Last year, for our first-ever Giving Day, you helped us raise over $100k for our free early college programs. We’re excited to bring our community together again this November to support BHSEC students, faculty, and staff with the resources they need.

Mark your calendar to donate on our Giving Day — November 13th — or give today! To help us meet the challenge, you may give anytime between now and November 13th — just make a note in the comment box at the bottom of the donation page that you’d like us to count your gift towards the Giving Day match challenge. Early giving towards our goal opens today, October 30th.

As July comes to an end, we are concluding another session of the Bard Early College Summer Intensive at Bard College Berlin!

Germany’s capital continues to serve as an exciting backdrop for our network wide international intensive. For three weeks, 20 early college students from 9 of our campuses took part in excursions, workshops, and college coursework while living and studying together with their early college peers from around the country.

The academic core of the program exposes students to the historical and cultural environment of Berlin. Outside of class, students explore both historic and modern Berlin, deepen connections to the classroom content, and immerse themselves in the experience of living abroad.

Many thanks to our partners at for another summer on their beautiful campus. Photos by Ly Nguyen.

The numbers don’t lie. This year across our national network of schools, we celebrated:

630 High School diplomas
542 Associate in Arts degrees
An estimated 36,486 credits earned
An estimated $46,957,482 in college tuition saved by credits earned at Bard Early College

The scholars of the Class of 2025 are talented writers, artists, and thinkers who navigated the rigorous environment of an early college with determination and resilience. Today, they are a cohort of intelligent and curious young people prepared to face today’s world.

We wish all the best to our graduates, and we know their futures are bright!
