Make February 2013 A Month of Struggle

Make February 2013 A Month of Struggle The Stop Mass Incarceration Network Calls on YOU to Join in Stopping the Slow Genocide of Mass Inca in 1850! All this must stop! But this is only the beginning.

As we approach Black History Month 2013, more Black people are in prison, in jail, or on probation or parole than there were slaves in the U.S. Day after day after day, the police stop-and-frisk, harass, railroad into prison, beat down, and murder Blacks and Latinos, especially the youth, with impunity.
¡Basta Ya! Join with the Stop Mass Incarceration Network and others across the country in takin

g to the streets on the anniversaries of the racist vigilante lynching of Trayvon and the NYPD murder of Ramarley. These atrocities are the direct result of the decades-long criminalization and demonization of our youth that paints them as criminal thugs that deserve whatever they get. You can make a difference in opening the eyes of millions and bringing them into the struggle to stop the criminal outrage of the slow genocide of mass incarceration, police murder of Black and Latino people, and the criminalization and demonization of our youth. Stopping Stop-and-Frisk became a major social battle in the fall of 2011 when 80+ people were arrested for putting their bodies on the line in a campaign of mass non-violent civil disobedience at three NYPD precincts with some of the highest rates of Stop-and-Frisk in NYC. Thousands were drawn into the struggle as they saw people acting in defiance of the crime of Stop-and-Frisk.

The Emergency Call! Join Us In Stopping Torture U.S. Prisons has been published in the LA Times (Wednesday, August 28). This is Day 52 of the CA prison hunger strike to stop solitary confinement torture. This is an emergency situation: at last report there are still approximately 100 prisoners on hunger strike which began on July 8, 2013 with 30,000 people in 23 prisons refusing to eat so that this barbaric torture will end.

You support is critical. And, we still need to raise $600 of the $6200 needed to cover the overall cost of the LA Times ad and its administrative fees. Please contribute!

Emergency Call to Stop U.S. Prison Torture

06/24/2013

Monday, June 24: "Justice 4 Trayvon" @ Union Square, 5:00 PM

Monday, June 24, is the first day of the actual trial for George Zimmerman, the racist killer of Trayvon Martin. The previous two weeks were involved with jury selection. There will be a jury of six persons. The powers that be have already been making noise to set up a situation that this is a tough trial to convict, and so on, and so forth.

The Stop Mass Incarceration Network will be returning to Union Square at 5:00 pm on Monday to bring the news to the people that we cannot relax our vigilance, and allow the authorities to allow Zimmerman to walk. This would be tantamount to an open season on Black and Latino youth by cops and racists of all ilk if we allow this to happen.

We will also connect up the fight for justice for Trayvon with the coming July 8th California prisoners' hunger strike against prison torture. All these outrages must be fought against as part of the fight against the slow genocide being done against Black and Latino communities, and many others.

Please join us to help leaflet, and to talk with people. Raise funds. Bring signs and noise makers, or just stand in solidarity with us.

Monday, 5:00 PM, Union Square, 14th Street at University. Take 4/5/6 or N/R to Union Square. F/M/L to 14th Street.
