Trade Commissioner Argayoso recently reconnected with Mr. Christopher Reiter, Managing Partner for North America of renowned global Filipino brand Kenneth Cobonpue, who personally visited the Philippine Center along Fifth Avenue to see the current window display.

The Likhang Filipino Window Display, launched in May 2026, showcases the creativity and craftsmanship of Philippine makers in the heart of Manhattan.

During the visit, both revisited the possibility of featuring Kenneth Cobonpue pieces in the window display, which is an exciting opportunity to further elevate the brand’s visibility in New York while supporting the promotion of Philippine design and exports in 2027.

And with the “-ber” months just around the corner, something festive is already in the works for the next window display. 👀✨

Stay tuned! 🇵🇭🗽

🇵🇭📈 Philippine merchandise exports reached a historic milestone in June 2026, soaring to a record USD 8.8 billion—the highest monthly export value since records began in 1991. Exports grew by 24.1% year-on-year, driven largely by strong global demand for electronics, particularly semiconductors and components used in AI, IoT, and hyperscale data centers. Electronic products accounted for nearly 60% of total exports, generating USD 5.25 billion in export revenues.

The country’s export momentum extended throughout the first half of 2026, with total merchandise exports reaching USD 46.72 billion, up 13.1% from the same period last year and marking the highest first-half export value on record. The United States remained the Philippines’ top export market, accounting for 20.1% of total exports, followed by Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Singapore.

The record performance reflects the growing global competitiveness of Philippine products and the continued resilience of Filipino exporters. Through trade promotion initiatives, strategic partnerships, and expanded market access opportunities, the Philippines continues to strengthen its position in global value chains and international markets.

The 2027 design landscape marks a shift toward "profound genuineness," where luxury is defined by the soul of an object and the integrity of its origin. This global craving for sensory connection is the heartbeat of Manila FAME 2026: Bloom.

Carrying forward the essence of 2025’s "Objects of Nature," this year’s theme further explores the inextricable link between the human spirit and the natural world.

Bloom represents the evolution of raw materials into refined mastery. By merging indigenous Filipino techniques with sustainable innovation, we respond to the rise of fluid, organic environments. From hallmark fibers like abaca and bamboo to modern material breakthroughs, we showcase the Philippines as the premier destination for thoughtful luxury—offering a design identity that is sharp, purposeful, and unmistakably human.

Growing U.S.–Philippines trade and investment, one stop at a time.
The Philippine Trade and Investment Center - New York (PTIC-NY), in partnership with the Embassy of the Philippines in Washington D.C., the Philippine Consulate General in New York, and the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, organized the U.S. Northeast, Midwest, and West Coast Business Mission to the Philippines — part of the official activities marking the 80th anniversary of Philippines-U.S. diplomatic relations. Delegates met with senior government officials, economic zone leaders, and top private-sector players across Metro Manila, Clark, and Subic:

🔹 Manila — The mission opened at the SGV Washington SyCip Development Center with a Business Forum on "Powering Future-Ready Economies: Smart Manufacturing, Digital Infrastructure, and Talent Partnerships," hosted by SGV & Co. and BDO with the Board of Investments and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines. Opening remarks came from Philippine Ambassador to the U.S. Jose Manuel G. Romualdez, with a keynote from DTI Undersecretary and BOI Managing Head Ceferino S. Rodolfo and a panel on "Aligning Policy, Investment, and Innovation" featuring leaders from DICT, DOF, TESDA, IBPAP, and the private sector.

The delegation then moved to the World Trade Center Metro Manila for the PEZA Investment Briefing and Strategic Business Forum, "Where Investments Take Shape: U.S. Growth Opportunities in PEZA Ecozones," headlined by PEZA Director General Tereso O. Panga and a panel on "Partnering for Sustainable Growth and Innovation" with the Philippine Ecozones Association, Science Park of the Philippines, Analog Devices, Amazon, Aboitiz Economic Estate, and the World Bank Group.

The day closed with a Welcome Reception at the Admiral Hotel hosted by the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) and TIEZA, featuring a cultural performance by INDAK TURISMO.

🔹 Clark — The delegation traveled north for a Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) briefing under the theme "Building Great Cities," spotlighting infrastructure and investment opportunities across Clark and other BCDA-led development zones, before proceeding to Subic.

🔹 Subic Bay — The mission's provincial leg continued with a full-day program at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center, welcomed by the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority, capped by a cocktail reception hosted by Black Pearl Investments and Santa Maria Group at the Subic Bay Yacht Club.

American investors continue to see real opportunity across the Philippines' economic zones. More to come as the mission continues!

A meaningful visit to Lola’s, one of New York Times’ Top 100 NYC Restaurants, by Filipino-American Chef Suzanne Cupps, where heritage, family, and culinary creativity come together. 🇵🇭✨

PTIC New York had the opportunity to introduce the office and its work in promoting Philippine exports in the U.S. market. We also shared samples of Philippine coconut, one of the country’s premier export products to raise awareness and appreciation for its quality, versatility, and market potential.

Named after the Filipino word for grandmother, Lola’s is not a traditional Filipino restaurant, but a heartfelt tribute to Chef Suzanne’s grandmother, her courage, and their family's resiliency on their journey from the Philippines to the U.S. during World War II. Inspired by her Southern upbringing, two decades in New York, and Filipino ingredients and techniques she continues to learn from her Filipino sous chefs, Chef Suzanne has created an Asian-inspired and American menu that reflects her unique culinary journey.

With fresh ingredients sourced daily, support for local farmers, and thoughtfully crafted clean dishes—including vegan-friendly options, Lola’s beautifully showcases how food can honor heritage with care and intention. ❤️🥥🍽️
