The preservation of this access matters: every day, patients in states across the country rely on telemedicine to get abortion care, and we’re relieved that they will not face even more barriers.
But this fight isn’t over: the underlying case will now return to the conservative appeals court, Trump’s FDA is continuing its politically-motivated “safety review” of mifepristone, and attacks from state legislatures will continue.
The Supreme Court on Thursday allowed women to continue to access the abortion pill mifepristone through telehealth visits, maintaining the status quo while officials in Louisiana continue to push for limiting availability of the drug in lower courts.
