Today we remember.
Memorial Day is not simply a day off or a long weekend — it is a day etched in sacrifice, honor, and remembrance.
Today we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave all for this great nation. Their absence is deeply felt, their courage forever remembered, and their legacy lives on through the freedoms we are blessed to have each day.
As we gather for this remembrance service and reflect through these photos, may we never forget the cost of freedom or the heroes who paid it in full.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or a day off work — it is a sacred reminder that freedom is never free. It was purchased by heroes who stood the line for generations they would never meet.

At VFW Post 6978 in New Whiteland, Indiana, we honor the fallen, remember their sacrifice, and pledge to never let their legacy fade. We especially remember our Brothers and Sisters in arms who answered the final call with courage, honor, and unwavering devotion to this nation.

Because of them, we live free.
Because of them, the American flag still flies proudly.
Because of them, we gather today in remembrance and gratitude.
