Citizens of Walker County:
As some of you may know, and as some may not, I tested positive for COVID on Monday, 5/9/22. This positive test result was disheartening, and I greatly missed being in attendance at the Republican Party Forum last night. Myself and my campaign managers did everything in our power to use innovative technology to allow me to be able to speak by microphone on a cell phone call, via FaceTime on a cell phone, or via Zoom videoconference on a computer, however each time we had a solution, we were informed that we could not do that. Please know that we exhausted all of our resources to try to allow me to be present without exposing everyone to COVID.
I was given the opportunity to be able to have a representative present my closing written statement. Therefore, I wrote a speech and asked her to deliver it. The decision for me to quarantine was in the best interest to all citizens who were in attendance for their safety, as well as the safety of myself. I am feeling a little better today ~ I hope to see you all soon. Please keep my family and I in your prayers!
