Last night, members of the Chatham Township Fire Department and Chatham Borough Fire Department joined us at the Morris County Fire Academy for our annual Class A Burn training.

Training like this reinforces the importance of teamwork, communication, and coordination in the fire service.
Big thank you to the New Vernon First Aid Squad for setting up the rehab station.
Great work by all departments!!!

While our members were checking couple of cisterns and hydrants in town during our Wednesday drill night one of the residents invited us to a BBQ to thank us for our service.

Tonight New Vernon Fire Department Members, New Vernon Squad members, Harding Police members, and Atlantic Paramedics were awarded for saving a life of one of our own.

Never stop training.. We had a great opportunity to attend the Critical Thinking Class that was created by retired Captain of Newark, John Norvis, Fire Optics, LLC. This particular class focuses on training in the stressful environment, team work, communication and overcoming obstacles. Please, contact for more information. We highly recommend Fire Optics, LLC for your next training experience!!!

The New Vernon Volunteer Fire Department, First Aid Squad, and Auxiliary are thrilled to launch NVVFD Volunteer Spotlights. To celebrate National Women’s History Month, we will spotlight the women of NVVFD.

Our first spotlight is Kasia Chirowska, a dedicated member of the Fire Department for 8 years and the second woman to proudly serve as a firefighter in our company’s history. Thank you to Kasia for her dedication and commitment to serving and protecting our community!
