📱 SOCIAL MEDIA SAFETY: “CAT IN THE HAT” TREND

Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement is asking parents, students, school staff, and community members to be aware of the current “Cat in the Hat” TikTok trend, which may involve threatening or concerning messages, images, or posts.
While some social media trends may appear to be jokes or pranks, threats involving schools, students, staff, or community members should always be taken seriously.

⚠️ IF YOU SEE A THREAT:
• DO NOT share, repost, or promote the threat.
• Do not engage with or challenge the person making the threat.
• Take a screenshot and preserve the information, including the username, date/time, and any relevant messages or links.
• Immediately report the information to law enforcement or a responsible school official.
• If you believe there is an immediate danger or an active threat, CALL 911.

Social media posts can spread quickly and may have serious consequences. Think before you post, share, comment, or participate in online trends. Never make threats, even as a joke. What may seem like a prank can result in law enforcement action and potentially serious consequences.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk with children about responsible social media use and to remind them to report concerning content rather than sharing it.

When in doubt, report it. It is always better to report a potential threat and allow law enforcement to determine whether it is credible.

A Wireless Emergency Alert was sent out reservation wide this afternoon.
TATPD is attempting to locate Georgianna Danks. If you have any information on her whereabouts or know where she is, please contact law enforcement at 701-627-3617 or call 911.

The Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services would like to congratulate Sergeant Jackie Grinnell for her heroism, and dedication to saving lives.

During the May Tribal Business Council Meeting, MHA Drug Enforcement Chief Dawn White presented Sergeant Grinnell with a Lifesaver Award in recognition of her actions, along with two MHA Drug Enforcement Agents. Although Sergeant Grinnell was unable to attend the ceremony at that time, we are proud to recognize her achievement today.

Sergeant Grinnell’s commitment to serving and protecting our communities reflects the highest standards of law enforcement and public service. We are honored to have her serving the Fort Berthold Reservation and helping keep our people safe.

We would also like to extend our appreciation to Sergeant Grinnell for her support and dedication to public safety.

Congratulations, Sergeant Grinnell, and thank you for your outstanding service to the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation.

*PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT*

June 11, 2026, was a significant and productive day for Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services as we continued to strengthen partnerships and enhance public safety throughout the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation.

We are proud to announce that the Mountrail County Sheriff’s Office and Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This agreement has been many years in the making and represents a major step forward in strengthening public safety through cooperation and mutual support. We want to assure our communities that this MOU does not affect the sovereignty of the MHA Nation. Instead, it provides a framework for collaboration as we address the unique public safety challenges that have emerged since the Bakken oil boom and the growth and diversity of our population. Now more than ever, strong partnerships with our state and local counterparts are essential to keeping our communities safe.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to ConocoPhillips for their generous $50,000 grant donation to our Joint Special Operations Team (JSOT). JSOT is a specialized response team made up of members from Three Affiliated Tribes Law Enforcement Services, MHA Drug Enforcement, the McLean County Sheriff’s Office, and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office. This funding will help support training, equipment, and operational readiness, ensuring the team remains prepared to respond to critical incidents and protect the communities we serve.

We appreciate the continued support of our partners, community members, and Tribal Business Council as we work together to build a safer future for all.
