❤️ “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”

I don’t talk much about what I do every day, but I wanted to give my friends and family a little glimpse into this chapter of my life.

Many people hear “senior center” and think of bingo and lunch.

What I see is so much bigger. ✨

☕ I see coffee and conversation with someone who simply needs a friend.

🎨 I see crafts, creativity, laughter, and people discovering talents they didn’t know they had.

💪 I see chair exercise, Tai Chi, core training, and line dancing helping people stay active, healthy, and independent.

🍿 I see popcorn machines, celebrations, potlucks, birthdays, music, and memories being made.

🚗❤️ I see meals delivered to homebound seniors who can’t get out, and warm meals served to those who can join us at the center.

🤝 I see volunteers giving their time, kindness, and hearts to others.

🙏 I see prayer requests, victories, struggles, healing, grief, friendship, and hope.

Most of all, I see people. ❤️

People who have lived through wars, raised families, built businesses, survived hardships, overcome losses, and accumulated more wisdom than most of us could ever imagine.

The funny thing is, you think you’re going there to help them.

Then you sit down for a while and realize they’ve been helping you all along. 💙

Every day I walk through the doors of the New River Kiwanis Senior Center, I see God’s fingerprints everywhere. His love is in the hugs, the encouragement, the laughter, the listening ears, and the people who show up for one another.

This isn’t just Monday through Friday.

🌟 It’s a mission.
🙏 It’s a ministry.
🏡 It’s a community.

And I am incredibly grateful that I get to be part of it.

Robin from Dazzle Creations is under the weather today, so we’re sending prayers and well wishes her way. 💐🙏

🧶🎨📿🖍️ We’re opening the craft closet and getting creative! Bring your own project or join in on whatever inspires you. One of the best parts of craft time is sharing talents, ideas, and inspiration with one another.

🌺 We could also use a few helping hands as we finish decorating for next Tuesday’s Hawaiian Celebration!

Grief comes in many forms—loss of a loved one, a relationship, our health, a dream, or a season of life. Whatever you’re carrying, you’re welcome here.

🌺🍍🌴 Aloha Appreciation Post! 🌴🍍🌺

We are feeling incredibly blessed and grateful today!

As many of you know, the New River Kiwanis Senior Center is hosting our Hawaiian Celebration on Tuesday, June 9th. We reached out to see if anyone in the community might be willing to help with the cost of pizza for our seniors.

Well… guess what happened?

A huge THANK YOU to Beni’s Pizza and to Michelle, who was an absolute sweetheart on the phone. When we explained what we were doing, they generously offered to pay HALF of the pizza cost for our celebration! ❤️🍕

In a world where we often hear about problems, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible kindness that exists right here in our communities of New River, Black Canyon City, Desert Hills, and Anthem.

The love, encouragement, support, donations, volunteer hours, smiles, and friendships that continue to pour into this center are nothing short of amazing. Every day we are reminded that when people come together with kindness, wonderful things happen.

The footprint being made here is one of friendship, connection, purpose, laughter, compassion, and positive change.

🌺💖 Dazzle Creations Update 💖🌺

🚨 Tomorrow’s Dazzle Creations Keychain Class (Tuesday, June 2) has been canceled. 🚨

Our sweet Robin from Dazzle Creations is feeling under the weather, so we will be postponing her class. We will announce a new date as soon as she is feeling better and ready to join us again. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send lots of well wishes her way. 🙏💐

We are so grateful that she thoughtfully chose to stay home and recover rather than risk bringing an illness to the center. Bless her heart—we hope she gets plenty of rest and is back to feeling her best very soon! ❤️

Bring a project you’ve been working on at home, start something new, color, paint, diamond paint, scrapbook, knit, crochet, or simply come enjoy some good conversation and creativity with friends.

Our lunches are prepared by our wonderful caterer, and meal orders must be placed by the Tuesday of the previous week. This advance ordering helps ensure meals are prepared fresh, delivered on time, and ready for everyone to enjoy.

🎵 The music is playing, the coffee is brewing, and the laughter is already starting. Sometimes the hardest part is taking that first step and walking through the door. Once you do, you’ll discover a welcoming community where people genuinely care about one another.
