Greystone was honored to join the New Prague city officials and project partners to celebrate the groundbreaking of the New Prague West Energy Station.

Once complete, the facility will provide the City of New Prague with the ability to generate power locally when the grid goes down, helping ensure reliable electricity for residents, businesses, and essential services. Projects like this strengthen community infrastructure and help secure New Prague’s energy future for years to come.

Thank You to Our Power Plant Crew

On Thursday afternoon, New Prague Utilities was notified that we would be starting up the engines at New Prague’s power plant to help support demand on the electricity grid. By Friday afternoon, crews started all four engines and ran them around the clock through Monday night, rotating crews of two.

This effort required long hours and flexibility, all to help support grid stability and provide reliable energy when it was needed most. We appreciate the commitment and behind-the-scenes work that made this possible.

This morning’s outage was caused by a contractor working in our area who accidentally struck a primary line. Our crews responded quickly and were able to restore power.

We are currently experiencing a power outage on the south east area of New Prague. Crews are working on getting the power restored.

The New Prague Utilities Water Department is in the process of flushing hydrants and will continue for the remainder of the week. Water mains are routinely flushed to clean out the distribution system. Rusty water may be evident during the procedure. If discoloration of the water exists after flushing is completed, residents are urged to run the cold water tap until the water runs clear again. Residents are encouraged to contact the New Prague Utilities with any questions, 952-758-4401
