šŸ“ššŸŽ’ HELP US FILL THE LIGHTHOUSE FOR LOCAL KIDS šŸŽ’šŸ“š

The Judi Pobst Team and the Gulf Harbors Collective are proud to be a collection site for Marjorie’s Hope— an incredible Pasco County nonprofit dedicated to helping children and families in need. šŸ’™

Marjorie’s Hope was created in memory of Marjorie Paradis-Brownridge, a compassionate mother and community advocate whose life was tragically cut short by a drunk driver in 1996. Her legacy of helping children and underserved families lives on today through this amazing organization and the work of her sister, Debi Shackowsky.

What started as providing backpacks and school supplies has grown into a life-changing resource for thousands of local children through programs including:
šŸŽ’ Back-to-school backpack drives
šŸ‘• Free clothing boutiques for students
šŸŽ“ Scholarships
šŸ’» Laptop assistance programs
šŸ‘— Cinderella & Prince Charming prom programs
šŸŽ„ Christmas support for families in need

Marjorie’s Hope continues to make an incredible impact across Pasco County by helping children feel confident, supported, and prepared for success.

NOW WE NEED YOUR HELP! šŸ™Œ

Last Tuesday, on May 19th Marjorie’s Hope had the honor of delivering breakfast to the amazing staff at Wendell Krinn Technical High School (87 staff members) and Cotee River Elementary School (120 staff members).

The delicious breakfast included scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage, biscuits & gravy, pancakes, and bacon — all lovingly prepared by Chef Chris Papapanous from St. George Greek Orthodox Church.

Community partners who joined Marjorie’s Hope in sponsoring this special event included Attorney Anna Farrell, RJ Kielty Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electric, State Farm - Ed Burke, St. George Greek Orthodox Church, and Marjorie’s Hope.

Together, we remain deeply appreciative to our educators for being a beacon within our community and for the unwavering dedication they show to our children each and every day.

With gratitude,
Marjorie’s Hope BOD, project managers, volunteers and community partners.

This evening, Debi Shackowsky from Marjorie’s Hope and Kevin Steiniger, son of Kathy Steiniger, proudly presented the 2026 Kathy Steiniger Memorial Foundation award to Gulf High School standout student, Sahana Kumar.

This $2,000 scholarship marks the 13th student recipient of this meaningful award.

Sahana embodies everything Marjorie’s Hope stands for through her dedication to community service, leadership, compassion, and commitment to helping others. Having volunteered more than 500 hours within our community, she has truly made a lasting impact on the lives of many.

Sahana will be attending the University of South Florida this fall as she pursues her dream of becoming a physician.

Congratulations, Sahana, on this well-deserved honor. Your future is incredibly bright, and we are excited to watch your journey continue.

A few days ago I lost the names from my iPhone 17pro cell phone but the glitch left all the cell numbers. If we communicate regularly or have communicated in the past or do business on a regular basis or you are a volunteer please text me with you name so I can re create my directory.
This has been sooo frustrating when trying to conduct business or when trying to communicate with others.
Thank you,
Debi Shackowsk

How does a not for profit organization like Marjorie’s Hope say more than just ā€œthank youā€ to two groups of women from our community who continue to show up in support of our mission for children in need through no faults of their own?

Well… I think you publicly recognize and inform the community of their kindness, generosity and willingness to serve others.

Recently, the Timber Greens Women’s Club honored Marjorie’s Hope by naming us their ā€œNot for Profit Organization of the Year,ā€ accompanied by a check donation. What an incredible honor for our organization and volunteers.

But the kindness did not stop there…

The Helping Hands organization, made up of residents from the Timber Greens community, recently hosted and sponsored a bedding drive for Marjorie’s Hope Outfitters. Together, they collected 102 bedding items with an estimated retail value of $1,900.00, along with 168 laundry pods for our families and an additional $300 donation from Timber Greens residents.

Oh wait… did I fail to mention some of their residents and club members also signed up to volunteer at our student clothing giveaway event in March? In a single day, starting at 0600 this amazing group helped Marjorie’s Hope distribute 2,914 articles of clothing to students in need.

And… since that event? Even more volunteers from Timber Greens and Helping Hands have embraced our mission and signed up to work inside our Outfitters store.

Please understand the driving force behind all of this goodness is our recently appointed project manager, Susie Urban — a Timber Greens resident and Helping Hands member herself. Susie not only brought ideas forward, she brought people forward with her; including her husband, John! lol, but true story!

Without any doubt, this is a group of women who are a force to be reckoned with. Together, they can move mountains.

To the women of Timber Greens Women’s Club and Helping Hands… thank you for loving this community and for loving the children within it.

With gratitude,

Marjorie’s Hope

Marjorie’s Hope would like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful moms out there.

To the first-time moms, seasoned moms, soon-to-deliver moms, moms praying for a successful IVF journey, moms who are working today, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers — we hope your day is filled with joy, love, and the people who mean the most to you.

To our Marjorie’s Hope volunteers: thank you for your continued support, for loving our mission, and for the countless hours you give to help children and families in need.

Your kindness, compassion, and dedication never go unnoticed. We respect you, value you, and appreciate you more than words can say.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Marjorie’s Hope.
