EarlyAct applications have been reviewed and acceptance emails have been sent out! Additionally, paper copies were placed in teacher mailboxes on Friday. Some students may have received their paper copy before the weekend. We’re excited to welcome our new EarlyAct members. Let’s make a difference together!

Good afternoon, Tigers. This is Mr. Wolin with your weekly updates.

We want to remind all of our families that there is no school on Monday, September 7th in observance of Labor Day. Students will return to school on Tuesday, September 8th.

We have a school fundraiser that will be kicking off this week. Please be aware that information will be coming home to explain, as well as some phone communications. Any and all support would be appreciated so we can make this year the best yet for our students.

Wednesday is a busy day at Richey. Students have picture day that day, so please dress them accordingly.

Then, Wednesday night from 5:00pm-6:30pm we are hosting our Open House and Title I Information night. We invite you to come out with your child, meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and learn more about their academic expectations for the year.

You will start to see an increase in homework over the next few weeks, as we are needing support from you to make sure your child is keeping up with the learning taking place and practicing the concepts being taught. Your child will only be successful if we all work together.

We hope everyone has a great remainder of their three day weekend and we will see our Tigers back on campus on Tuesday morning!

This October is extra special because our beloved retired Richey teacher Pat O’Connor is celebrating 20 YEARS CANCER FREE! Since 2013, Pat, alongside Richey staff, families, and friends, has helped raise an incredible $37,000 for the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and this year, we’d LOVE to help that total hit $40,000!

🎸🐾 FREE FAMILY DINNER + FAMILY LITERACY NIGHT! 🐾🎸

You’re invited to join us for a FREE dinner on Wednesday, September 23rd at 6:00 PM! This will be a fun evening for the whole family, but it’s more than just dinner! After we eat, students will head to a special reading activity while parents and caregivers participate in a family literacy workshop with ideas and resources to help support reading at home.

Families will also have an opportunity to sign up to receive FREE books for their children!

Plus, there’ll be:

Which homeroom will come out on top?! The teacher with the most families joining the PTA by the end of September will win a gift card to the place of their choice!
