September 1–5 is Drowsy Driver Prevention Week!
The Metropolitan Planning Organization is reminding everyone that staying alert behind the wheel saves lives.
Driving drowsy is dangerous, even a moment of fatigue can lead to disaster. When you’re tired, you risk:
• Slower thinking and reaction time
• Poor judgment and blurred vision
• Reduced awareness and impaired abilities
• Micro-sleep episodes — those quick “nod offs” that can turn deadly
Your safety matters. If you’re feeling tired, pull over, rest, and protect yourself and others on the road.
Stay alert. Stay safe. Stay awake out there, Pasco County.
