This morning, NT staff, students, and bus drivers conducted Bus Safety Evacuation Drills to practice and prepare for emergency situations. 🧡🤎🚌

As mornings get darker, watch for students walking to bus stops, crossing streets, and waiting in our villages and along rural roads.

If you are behind a bus, leave space, watch for flashing amber lights (which means a stop is coming), and stop for red lights when students are getting on/off. This applies from both directions under Ohio Revised Code ORC 4511.75.

Near the National Trail Campus, obey the 20 mph school zone speed limit during flashing light hours. Deputies will be monitoring.

Please help keep our district safe! Visit https://otso.ohio.gov/resources/school-bus-safety to review Ohio school bus safety information, videos, and resources.

This week’s BLAST nominee is Blazer student Molli Deaton. Molli was nominated by MVCTC educator and Blazer community member Mandy Turner. She wrote, "My name is Mandy Turner, and I teach Cosmetology at Miami Valley Career Technology Center. Molli Deaton is a senior in my class, and I feel strongly that she is so deserving of the BLAST award!

Each and every day she goes out of her way to make sure everyone’s life around her is easier. This includes staff and students alike. Anytime I ask for a volunteer for something to be done, she is the first to step forward. She has the kindest heart and most giving soul of anyone I’ve ever met. She is going to achieve great things in life! These are normal things that she just does each day.

Last week, she went above and beyond anything I’ve ever seen a student do. I walked out of my lab into the locker bay during my plan, and she was attaching positive notes of encouragement to every single student’s locker in the Cosmetology department. There are 133 students in our program. She spent the evening the night before writing 133 different positive messages to each student, so that when they arrived at their locker, they would be reminded that there is still kindness left in the world and she was here to make sure they knew that they were loved and special and worthy of being here.

In my 19 years in education, I’ve never seen such a selfless and kind act by a student. I feel that Molli Deaton should be the recipient of this week’s BLAST award!"

Way to go, Molli!🧡🤎

On Tuesday, September 8, middle school students placed 100 American flags at the entrance of our school. Each flag represents nearly 30 lives lost in the events of September 11, 2001. These flags will remain in place throughout the week to greet all visitors to our campus.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, we ask our community to pause, remember, and consider committing an act of service to honor the lives of those we lost.

BLAST is back for the 2026-2027 school year! 💥

Our first BLAST nominee is Blazer educator Nathan Nolan.

Mr. Nolan was nominated by Blazer educator and parent Misty Canan. She wrote, “As both a marching band mom and an employee, I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the positive energy he brings to National Trail. From watching him lead the marching band, to getting the crowd pumped up at football games, to seeing him interact with the 5th and 6th grade students at lunch, and being cheered on loudly by the student body at our Staff Walk-Out Assembly, he consistently brings such an upbeat and positive presence wherever he goes!

The students have really welcomed him, and it is clear that he has already begun making a positive impact on so many of our students. He has brought such great energy to our district, and I think he deserves to be recognized for the way he connects with students and contributes to our positive culture here at NT.”

Congratulations, Mr. Nolan! 🧡🤎

Did you forget to purchase last year's yearbook? We will be placing one last order for the 2025-2026 high school yearbooks!📖

If your student graduated last year and you would like to purchase their senior yearbook, please get in touch with Mrs. Hollingsworth at [email protected]

If your student is a current sophomore, junior, or senior, they can pick up an order form from the high school office.

Yearbooks are $45 and must be paid for by October 15 to secure your order. Payments can be brought to the school and given to any of the secretaries or placed in Mrs. Hollingsworth's mailbox.

This will be the FINAL order placed for the 2025-2026 yearbooks, and we will not be ordering any extra. Thank you!
