According to Michael Thomas, a father whose daughter was abducted by her noncustodial mother, "No one hands you a letter that says, 'Your child's been abducted.'"

And to those "on the outside looking in," he says "Don't be judgmental, place blame, or assume things."

The moments after your child has been abducted by a family member are full of uncertainty and fear. So what should you do if your child has been abducted by a parent or family member?

1. Call the police. Ask them to file a Missing Child Report and to provide your child's NCIC number.
2. Take detailed notes. You will speak to many agencies regarding your missing child. Keep a detailed record of every conversation you have.
3. Have documents accessible. This includes custody orders, divorce papers, co-parenting plans, and visitation agreements.
4. Call Child Find of America. Our caseworkers are here to answer questions, share resources, and provide referrals to other agencies.

Childhood should be a time for learning, playing, and growing — not working.

On World Day Against Child Labor, we recognize the millions of children around the world who are still forced into labor and reaffirm the importance of protecting every child's right to safety, education, and a future.

Together, we can continue working toward a world where every child is free to simply be a child.

Today, we remember Mark Seelman, who has been missing for 36 years.

He was last seen in the parking lot of DJ’s Bar in Rome, NY between approximately 12:30 and 1:00AM on June 8, 1990. He and his male friend were seen talking to an unknown man. The three may have left in a green 70’s Chevy Malibu or Nova.

We ask you to keep Mark and all other children who are still missing in your hearts. Our work to ensure that all missing children are recovered never stops.

June 4th is International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression. On this day, we remember children who live in areas affected by conflict. Their exposure to violence puts them at significant risk for unimaginable harm.

According to the United Nations, "The United Nations Secretary-General's Annual Report on Children and Armed Conflict reveals that violence against children in armed conflict reached unprecedented levels in 2024, with a 25 per cent increase in grave violations compared with the previous year."
