With Chanukah starting this evening and the news of the attack in Australia I feel the need to say now more than ever that antisemitism has no place in New Paltz. This includes demonstrating outside a synagogue or Jewish community center. Protesting against the Israeli government is fine but yelling at people on the way to worship is never OK. These places and people do not represent Israel and nobody should be accosted when going to practice their religion. We as a community must stand together against hate and treat each other with care and respect.

It’s not enough but it’s a start.

NEWS TO SHARE! Beginning Tues., Dec. 9, we're adding two routes in New Paltz and Port Ewen in response to feedback we've received to the Sept. 15 changes. They include:

NEW PALTZ LOOP– Tuesdays & Saturdays, 10 AM - 3 PM. The bus will follow the same route as the previous loop service prior to September 15, with stops that include Tops, Shoprite, the SUNY New Paltz campus, and more.

PORT EWEN LOOP – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10 AM - 3 PM. The bus will provide a transit option in addition to the KPL bus that connects Port Ewen to Kingston, serving the Birches in Port Ewen, the Broadway Corridor, Kingston Plaza, Development Court, and more.

For schedules and information, visit https://ucat.ulstercountyny.gov/routes/

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond, we are excited about implementing the Route Optimization Plan, which will add more service (Including to Pine Hill) and make it easier and more convenient to use our transit system for work, school, and other transportation needs.
