United Hook & Ladder Co. 33 is excited to welcome the community for an evening of fun, food, and community engagement during National Night Out!

Come out and meet your local firefighters, learn about fire safety, check out our apparatus, and enjoy a great night with family, friends, and neighbors.

FYI:

New Oxford Municipal Authority (NOMA) will be performing smoke testing of the sanitary sewer lines in Oxford Township, New Oxford Borough, and Hamilton Township starting Monday, 6/8/26 thru Friday, 6/19/26.

We wanted to make sure you were informed. There is a possibility of smoke coming out from floor drains, sinks, etc. while testing is performed.

UPDATE!!! We have a SEVEN tickets 🎫🎫 available for our 300 Party fundraiser this Saturday, March 28th.

Ticket 🎫🎫 price - $70

Prizes are cash 💵💰. Odds for winning are 5 to 1.

The ticket includes dinner and beverages for 2 adults. You must be 21 to attend. Buffet style meal of Fried Chicken, Ham, scalloped potatoes, vegetable, dessert and intermission snacks.

Last night, we had the honor of hosting our Annual Members’ Banquet. This event is a time to come together, reflect on the past year, and recognize the incredible dedication of our volunteers.

We proudly celebrated this year’s award recipients for:

Fire Police of the Year: Devin Strausbaugh
Rookie of the Year: Bradley Lake
Firefighter of the Year: Scott Buchholz
Junior Member of the Year: Hunter Unkart
and Member of the Year: Joseph Reese

Each of these individuals represent the commitment, courage, and teamwork that keep our department strong.

Thank you to all of our members and their families for the sacrifices you make and the support you provide. It’s because of you that we’re able to serve our community with pride.

🚨 Community Information – Outdoor Warning Sirens 🚨

We have receive numerous questions today about tornado or emergency sirens in our area.

The sirens that once existed at the New Oxford, Abbottstown, Bonneauville, and Hampton, United Hook & Ladder fire stations are no longer operational.

These sirens dated back to the Civil Defense era and were discontinued many years ago due to:
• Increased emergency call volume
• High maintenance costs
• Limited availability of replacement parts

Today, modern alert systems provide faster and more reliable warnings.

Your cell phone emergency alerts, weather radios, and television alerts deliver warnings directly from the National Weather Service and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency.

Outdoor sirens also rely on 911 dispatch centers to activate them, meaning they are not automatic.

In many cases, personal alert systems will notify you more quickly and directly than a siren.

✅ The best way to stay safe is to make sure Wireless Emergency Alerts are enabled on your phone, and consider having a NOAA weather radio for severe weather notifications.

Staying informed through modern alert systems helps ensure you receive timely warnings when severe weather threatens our community.
