We need to take a minute to say happy, happy, happy birthday to Junior Chief Ben Spickler! He just turned 18, and that’s bittersweet for us, because that means he is moving on from the junior program.

Ben—thank you for your hard work as a junior, and thank you for the way you represented our junior program. Ben is a 6th-generation firefighter and plans to make the fire service his career. He also owns a landscaping business. Go “lead the way,” Ben—we will be following you.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

(Officer Duarte was killed while responding to an active-shooter situation at UPMC York Memorial Hospital earlier this week.)
