Complex Incident Management Course

Complex Incident Management Course Complex Incident Management Course (CIMC) CIMC was designed to prepare Incident Management Teams to manage large, complex incidents for the states.

This diverse course provides training on emergencies related to public health, hazardous materials, and natural disasters to test incident management teams. CIMC invites instructors from around the nation to share their experiences and knowledge for the new generation of first responders. The location for this course alternates yearly based on geographical areas and training needs. CIMC uses a com

bination educational tools that include lecture, simulated exercises and team collaboration exercise throughout the week long course. The main goal is to enhance the team’s/individual’s knowledge and functional skill set in the Incident Command System. Simulations are a valuable tool for emergency response and can be used for vulnerability assessment, planning, training and decision support.

🔥The 38th offering of CIMC kicked off today — the first time the course has been hosted in Louisiana ‼️

Students were welcomed by Wade Dubea - State Forester, Dusty Martin - CIMC Chair, and Greg Smith - NASF Fire Director opened the course, setting the stage for a week focused on leadership, coordination, and managing complex incidents.

Looking forward to a great week of learning and collaboration.

CIMC is an advanced, all-hazard incident management course designed for state and local emergency response leaders and is recognized as interchangeable with NWCG S-520 for Complex Incident Management certification.
