ATTENTION ALL PANO MEMBERS

As previously described in one of our previous posts, the NOPD Command Staff, PIB, and the OIG are all engaged in various investigations into payroll and overtime issues.

They are using drive-bys at work and officer’s residence to ensure they are at work in a timely manner. They are also utilizing surveillance and license plate reading technology to track city vehicles.

Please review your payroll and assignment records to ensure that you make no mistakes regarding such matters. Any PANO member that suspects they may have an issue in this regard, please contact us as soon as possible.

ATTENTION ALL PANO MEMBERS; From Eric Hessler

As the in house cousel for PANO feel compelled to remind our members of their obligation to abide by the rules and regulationsnof the NOPD and also protect themselves from false accusations and/or public embarrassment.

With that being said, it has come to our attention that NOPD supervisors and PIB Investigators will be dramatically escalating efforts to insure officer accountability, especially at it relates to payroll, devotion of time to duty and reporting to duty aspects.

As such, we are reminding you of your obligation to properly document accurate payroll information, be present and performing your duty on your working hours, and both reporting and departing during working hours.

Supervisors and PIB Investigators have been tasked with performing both spot checks at working locations and spot checks at officers homes (both in the parish and elsewhere) to ensure compliance with all the above.

While we know the great majority of our membership comply with such policies, it never hurts to remind you of such enhanced scrutiny so that there is no errors made in regards to such matters.
