Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and Preserve shares the treasures of south Louisiana through six park sites (all with free admission---see the list below). The park’s mission is to share and protect the area’s natural, historical, and cultural resources. 2 - 3 pm - Intro to Map Reading
Come learn about the maps that point the way. Whether you're learning to read maps or already a map enthusiast, there room for everyone here!

📅Wednesday, June 17
10:30 - 11:30 am - Bourre/Booray Club
There are countless card games to learn around the world but Booray is a signature of southern Louisiana. Come learn the basics of how to play this classic game and maybe play a few other games while you're here!

📅Thursday, June 18
5 - 7 pm - Family Game Night!
Open to all ages and all families. Bring the whole fam to this fun night of new and classic games!
5:30 - 6:30 pm - Rendezvous in the Prairie ft. Jesse Brown Family Trio
Rendezvous in the Prairie is a live accoustic performance filled with great stories, friendly faces, and fantastic tunes. Enjoy this free live music twice a week at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.

Cooks, volunteers, and rangers all take to the range in the demonstration kitchen! Delicious recipes that give you a taste of tradition are cooking every Saturday at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center.
3 - 4 pm - Rendezvous in the Prairie ft. Moi, Toi et Lui

Flag Day is a great day to learn about the flags you see every day in southern Louisiana. Come check out this craft and learn about the history of the Cajun flag of southern Louisiana while your at it!

5 - 5:30 pm - Ranger Recipes
Rangers are loose in the kitchen again! Come find out what new (to them) recipe they have attempted this time and get a sample to try too!

National Park Summer Camp is almost here at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice!

This summer, kids will explore the history and culture of southern Louisiana through food, music, crafts, and games.

📅There are two sessions:
• June 22–26, ages 6–9
• June 29–July 3, ages 9–12

🕘Camp meets 9 AM–1 PM, Monday - Friday.

⭐Cost: $50 per camper.

🎨✨Local artist Edward Angelloz will be showcasing a stunning collection of artwork at the Wetlands Acadian Cultural Center from June 1st through August 25th. Edward, better known as E.A., grew up in Thibodaux and has always loved art. Later in life, he began making mixed media artwork, with decoupage drawings becoming his favorite style.
If you appreciate creativity inspired by our culture, landscape, and rich heritage, this exhibition is a must-see. Stop by, support a talented local artist, and enjoy a beautiful display of art right here at home!

🚨 Trail & Program Alert – Wednesday, May 28 🚨
Due to preparations for the Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival, today’s Wetlands Walk has been relocated to Twin Canals Trail (6588 Barataria Blvd., Marrero, LA 70072).

Visitors seeking trail access to Barataria Preserve are encouraged to use Twin Canals Trail throughout the festival weekend.

The Jean Lafitte Seafood Festival runs May 29–31 and features live music, local seafood, art vendors, carnival rides, and more. Festival admission is:
• Friday (5/29): $10
• Saturday (5/30): $20
• Sunday (5/31): $10
Children 12 and under are free.
