The recognition was celebrated at the US Open, highlighting the partnership between NORDC and A’s & Aces and our shared commitment to making tennis accessible and welcoming to our community.

Coach AJ is the 2026 recipient of the prestigious 35x35 President’s Impact Award, a national honor presented by the United States Tennis Association to grassroots leaders making a significant impact by growing tennis and expanding access to all communities. The USTA honored Coach AJ during US Open Fan Week, celebrating his dedication to tennis and the young people he serves.

Highlights from our TrueSport Day! 🎾🚴
We were honored to welcome Josh Hartman, a 3x National Champion in track cycling, to our camp for a day focused on leadership, character, and sportsmanship. As a TrueSport Athlete Ambassador, Josh inspired our players by sharing his journey in sport, the values that have guided his success, and the importance of perseverance, respect, and integrity - both on and off the court.
Thank you, Josh and TrueSport.org, for spending the day with our campers and encouraging the next generation of athletes to strive for excellence!

This past Saturday, we hosted our second USTA-sanctioned Level 7 tournament of the year. Our players earned ranking points across all played divisions, a testament to their hard work and dedication. Summer training is paying off!

A’s & Aces and NOMATA proudly hosted Court of Dreams: Realize the Dream in celebration of Juneteenth at the Joe Brown Tennis Center. In partnership with Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana, we welcomed four incredible guests - Vietnam War veterans and relatives of civil rights leader Oretha Castle Haley - who shared their personal stories from the Civil Rights Movement and their journeys in social justice and service.
Realize the Dream is a national initiative led by the USTA, Martin Luther King III, and Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe that honors the legacies of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Arthur Ashe by inspiring leadership, service, and community engagement.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special day of learning, reflection, and connection.

Our summer camps are now in full swing! This summer, A’s & Aces is operating three camps across two sites, serving more than 100 children, including participants in our Tournament Training Academy. From tennis instruction and academic enrichment to life skills development, field trips, and lots of fun, it’s shaping up to be another great summer!

We renovated the courts with the USTA's Coco Gauff Legacy Fund - and she showed up in person to celebrate the grand opening with our kids. And we earned Chapter of the Year recognition too.
