End of Watch. Tomorrow we say goodbye to an outstanding police supervisor. Lt. Michael Francis was a multi-talented supervisor-- our fi****ms instructor, our driving instructor, our FTO instructor and our patrol boat operator to name a few of his duties. He was a former ASIS Police Officer of the Year. Mike displayed an enormous amount of courage as he continued to report for duty during his 15 year battle with his illness. Sadly missed. Micheal Anthony Francis, a Lieutenant with The Harbor Police Department (25 yrs), entered into eternal life on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the age of 52. A proud and devoted graduate and Alumni of St. Augustine High School C/O 1981, after high school he attended Louisiana State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines. Loving son of Calvin Francis, Jr. and the late Audrey Robinson Francis. Devoted husband of Freda Jones Francis; cherished father of Keisha, Jamond, Keitris and Gentry; brother of Calvin, III (Joyce), Lester (Cynthia) and the late Darnell Francis. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 godchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastor, officers and members of Macedonia church of God In Christ, friends and coworkers of The Harbor Police Department and all other Police Depts., Alumni of St. Augustine High, former co-workers of Charity Hospital are all invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Macedonia Church of God In Christ 3015 Louisa Street, NOLA 70126 at 11:00 am, Supt. Dave Jones, Jr., officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Westlawn Cemetery 1225 Whitney Ave., Gretna,. Visitation to begin at 9:00 am in the above named church.
