Saturday's results were not the outcome we had hoped for, but the voters of Orleans Parish have spoken, and I respect their decision. I am deeply proud of the work we accomplished together over the last four years. We modernized the Clerk’s Office, strengthened election operations, secured major grants to digitize court records, and built systems that will serve our courts, our partners in the criminal justice system, and the public for years to come. We also launched a successful expungement program that helped countless residents clear old barriers and move forward with dignity and opportunity. We positioned this office among the most transparent and forward-moving in the state, and that progress will remain.

I called Calvin Duncan personally to congratulate him. I stand ready to support a smooth and professional transition so that the important work of this office continues without interruption. I remain grateful to the voters, to my incredible team, and to everyone who believed in our mission of modernization, integrity, and service. Serving the people of Orleans Parish as Clerk of Criminal District Court has been one of the great honors of my life. Thank you.

Election Day has officially arrived! Polls are open from 7 am through 8 pm.

I’ve spent my career protecting the integrity of our democratic process as OPDEC Chair and as Governor Edwards’ appointee to the State Board of Election Supervisors and as your Clerk of Criminal District Court and Chief Elections Officer. That experience has earned the trust of Mayor-elect Moreno, community leaders, and neighbors across New Orleans.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. The Clerk of Criminal District Court and Chief Elections Officer is not a job for on-the-job training.

My decades of hands-on experience and work modernizing the office and strengthening election operations have prepared me to lead on Day One. Experience matters, especially here.

Together, we can continue building a court system and elections that work for everyone.

Make a plan, grab some friends and family, and head to the polls to make your voice heard!

While there are crossover duties between 2nd City Court Clerk and Criminal District Court Clerk, the latter deals with even more sensitive material and more stakeholders; it requires even more on-the-job experience. That's experience I have, having worked my way up the ranks of Clerks in our city.

We cannot afford to leave critical records to a candidate who's not even committed enough to his own record to stand on it in a debate. WBOK 1230AM tried very hard to give Mr. Duncan the opportunity to participate in informing the voters about how qualified each candidate is, but he refused to show up, yet again.

It takes a coalition to keep progress moving forward. From public servants to community groups, I’m proud to have earned the trust of so many who believe in my record of results.

Together, we’ll keep modernizing the Clerk’s Office, finishing the digital transformation, protecting every record, and making it easier than ever to participate in our democracy.

If you want to keep up the progress, vote to re-elect Darren Lombard as Clerk of Criminal District Court!

This Fall, we proudly launched our first free expungement clinics to help members of our community get back on their feet. There was plenty of interest and action in the first round, and with 156 more individuals seeking a better life now, we're excited to keep that program going. That's why I asked City Council for funding for this critical effort to help our people get their lives in order.

Let's build a New Orleans with opportunity for everyone.

Keep up the progress on Election Day, November 15.

In my first term as Clerk of Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, I'm proud to have led the efforts to modernize the Clerk's Office, including long-overdue reforms like working to launch electronic filing and case access through Clerk Connect, eliminating unnecessary fees for the public.

But modernization doesn’t happen overnight. It takes steady leadership, institutional knowledge, and commitment to see these initiatives through to full implementation. With your support, I’ll continue the work we started, building a transparent, efficient, and accessible Clerk’s Office for every New Orleanian.

Vote this Election Day, November 15.
