It’s that time of year again! Possible destructive weather coming our way. NAS JRB New Orleans is setting COR 4.

Keep your phones on and stay in communication with your chain of command. We’ll repost updated, but please follow the base social media pages for the most up to date information.

Commanding Officer, NAS JRB New Orleans has ordered the setting of Hurricane Condition of Readiness (COR) 4.

COR 4 is the first condition of heightened hurricane readiness. Destructive force winds (50 mph) are forecasted within 72 hours.

Under COR 4, personnel should:

-Clear debris around house
-Secure loose equipment/boats
-Stock up on non-perishables
-Prepare the items on your Disaster Supplies checklist
-Review shelter locations/evacuation routes
-Ensure you have propane and fuel for vehicles
-Move valuables upstairs or store inside closets
-Have adequate CASH on hand
-Follow instructions from official sources only
-Notify family of your emergency plans
-Backup your hard drive
