Celebrate Freedom Week runs September 14-18 in every Louisiana public school. During this week, your child learns about government, citizenship, and our nation's founding principles. Students explore the people, events, ideas, and primary documents that shaped the United States, including the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.

The students at LFI have a unique experience during this week with our world class international teachers providing an additional global perspective of freedom, citizenship, and government alongside their American civics lessons.

This morning, we were honored to welcome members of the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) to our primary campus in the French Quarter as the first stop on their Bridging Success Tour 2.0!

They were able to visit our PreK-4 , 4th and 5th grade classrooms, see our dynamic teachers engaging with their students, admire the exemplar posted student work, speak to our scholars in French & tour the campus .

A huge shout out to Mme Peltier, M. Essnousiane, M. Mbeh, and Mme Kelley who allowed us into their classrooms, and to our Leadership staff who worked tirelessly to beautify the campus in preparation. Our visitors had a lovely visit, and we look forward to welcoming them back at our next event !

SECURITY UPDATE

On September 3rd, LFIL identified unauthorized access to a staff email
account. The account was used to send phishing messages titled “Review
and Sign” and “Please check”. These messages were not sent by the
employee.

Based on the records reviewed so far, we have found no evidence that
the unauthorized person accessed or removed sensitive or student data.
The activity confirmed in our logs appears limited to preparing,
sending, and concealing the phishing email campaign. We have
identified no further unauthorized activity since the account was
contained.

We are also receiving reports that other local schools have
experienced similar account compromises. We do not yet know whether
these incidents are connected.

Response timeline

• 4:42 p.m. : The main phishing email blast began.
• 5:25 p.m. : LFIL reset the account credentials and suspended the
account, containing the known unauthorized activity.
• By 5:39 p.m. : Identified copies in LFIL-managed inboxes were marked
as phishing and removed from internal inboxes.

If you received one of these messages, do not click its links,
download files, or install anything. Report it as phishing and delete
it.

If you entered a password, change it immediately from a trusted device
anywhere that password was used. If you opened or ran a downloaded
file, disconnect the device from the network and have it examined by a
qualified technician.

Thank you to everyone who reported the messages quickly. Our
investigation is continuing, and we will share another update if our
findings materially change.

Bonjour all ,

We detected unauthorized access to an email account belonging to one of our employees at the school. The email address is:

[email protected]

While gaining unauthorized access to the account, emails were sent by the employee using the school email ID containing a link or instructions within those emails. Please delete the email if you received one.

We are continuing to investigate the cause and will post relevant updates as they become available.

Today, we received our AEFE Homologation Certificate for the 2026-2027 school year. 2026 has been an amazing year for LFI with so many outstanding achievements including an A rating from LDOE, another State World Language Immersion Program Certification from BESE, IB Candidate School Designation, and for the 1st time being ranked in the top 5% of high schools in the United States by US News & World Reports.

AFTERCARE UPDATE: MONDAY, AUGUST 24

LFIL families,

Due to an issue with our HVAC system, aftercare at Primary — French Quarter is canceled today, Monday, August 24. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue.

Please arrange for your child to be picked up at the regular Monday dismissal time. There will be no aftercare services available today.

For the first time ever, Lycée Français International de la Louisiane has been recognized by US News & World Reports as one of America’s Best High Schools ranking 863rd out of 17,945 schools(Top 5% Nationally) and the 9th Best High School in Louisiana. TRANSPORTATION UPDATE: MY RIDE K-12

LFIL families,

We are aware that some families who could see their A&S bus routes and stops in My Ride K-12 last week are not currently able to view that information.

We contacted our transportation partners at A&S, and they confirmed that this is temporary. Routes and assigned stops are expected to be visible again by Monday morning.

In the meantime, families experiencing another transportation issue can submit the LFIL Transportation Support Form:
