We are nearing completion of the approval process, which will enable us to begin construction of our new building. Due to the uncertainty surrounding the timeline and factors beyond our control, we have postponed our summer events, as the access to our property remains unclear. We anticipate resuming our regular activities next summer and will provide updates as they arise. We appreciate the community's ongoing support.

This EMS Week, we want to say thank you to all of our EMS personnel for the hours that nobody else sees. Yes, the public sees the ambulance driving down the road, but they don't see you leaving your dinner table, missing out on family functions, or rolling out of bed in the freezing cold or all hours of the night because someone called for help. We are a small company, yet, you all continue to step up, train, and deliver professional care to our neighbors.
This year's theme, 'Improving Outcomes, Together,' describes our crew perfectly. We rely on each other to get these trucks out the door and back safely. Sometimes we aren't sure how we managed it but some how we always pull together and make it happen. Thank you for your dedication!

On May 08, 2026, Blue Ridge High School hosted a session where members of local first responder organizations met with students from the junior class to discuss the critical shortage of first responders. This session was used to inform the students of the wide range of volunteer roles that they can take in order to preserve the vital fire and EMS services within our communities. Students were provided classroom, simulation and apparatus overview opportunities during this half day session. Volunteers from Columbia Hose Company, Great Bend Hose Company #1, and Great Bend Hallstead Volunteer Ambulance staffed the event. We thank the leadership and staff from Blue Ridge School District for their community mindedness in making this session available. Applications were provided to students for all fire and EMS service providers in the Blue Ridge District and students were encouraged to “give where you live.”

We would like to thank Blue Ridge SADD club for the opportunity this afternoon along with Susquehanna County Emergency Management Agency, Great Bend Hose Company #1 and Montrose Minute Men to participate in their mock car crash.
This is an event that the SADD club holds every 2 years just prior to prom to demonstrate to students the possible outcome of drinking and driving.
This year the scenario was a 2 car head-on crash with 4 occupants in each vehicle. There was a fatality, 2 critical and 5 others that required evaluation by EMS, 1 of which was the "drunk" driver who was handed over to PSP.
We would like to thank everyone who took the time and came out to participate today.
To all of the students who are attending prom this week; have a safe and enjoyable time.
