From books to programs, it’s a hub of learning, connection, and creativity for all ages, located in the heart of New Martinsville, West Virginia The New Martinsville Public Library offers our users a multitude of resources, from books, audiobooks and videos to e-books, magazine databases and public internet access. We provide free public wi-fi access. We also house an extensive genealogy and local history collection in print and on microfilm. DIRECTIONS: The library is located west of Rt. 2. Turn west onto North Street then turn left onto Maple Avenue and then right onto Washington Street. The Library will be on the right.

🔨 LOCAL CONTRACTOR NEEDED!🔨

New Martinsville Public Library is looking for a local contractor to take a look at a small outdoor construction project at the library.

We have an existing outdoor area with walls already in place that we need to enclose and convert into much-needed storage space. The primary work would involve extending/connecting the existing roof structure to create a fully covered and enclosed area.

We do have funding set aside for this project, but as a public library, we are always working within limited resources and want to make those dollars stretch as far as possible while still having the work done properly and safely.

We’re looking for someone who can come to the library, look at the existing space, talk through what would be needed, and provide us with an estimate.

New Martinsville, you are absolutely hitting all the right notes!

We're halfway through Library Card Sign-Up Month, and we've already welcomed 31 NEW cardholders to the NMPL family! ❤️

That means we're 62% of the way to our goal of 50!

Every one of those cards represents someone new connecting with books, resources, programs, technology, and their community, and we LOVE seeing it.

But we're not finished yet...

🚲📚 INTRODUCING THE DOLLY PARTON READING & RIDING STATION!*📚🚲

We have been wanting a bike rack at the New Martinsville Public Library for quite some time. We have patrons of all ages who ride their bikes to visit us, and now they finally have a proper place to park their wheels while they come inside to find their next great read!

And the best part? Our new bike rack was made possible by a generous anonymous donor who chose to sponsor it in honor of none other than Dolly Parton.🦋💗

With Dolly’s Appalachian roots and her incredible legacy of encouraging literacy and a love of reading, we knew an ordinary name simply wouldn’t do.

So, we are delighted to officially introduce:

✨ The Dolly Parton Reading & Riding Station ✨

A place for bikes, books, and the journeys both can take us on. ⛰️📖🚲

A HUGE thank you to our anonymous sponsor for seeing a small need at our library and stepping up to make it happen. Community support like this allows us to keep making our library a little more welcoming, useful, and accessible for everyone.

And, of course, somebody had to turn a box of metal pieces into an actual bike rack! 😆

A big thank you to Library Director Sarah "Essie" Jackson and our very own **Todd, Duke of Maintenance**, for assembling, installing, leveling, digging, cementing, and generally figuring out how to make the thing stay where we put it. 👑🔧

🚧 **ONE IMPORTANT NOTE:** The concrete around the bike rack is still curing, so **PLEASE DO NOT USE THE BIKE RACK JUST YET!** We know she’s pretty, but Dolly needs a little time to get settled. 😉

We’ll let everyone know when the Reading & Riding Station is officially ready for its first bicycle.
