New Market Volunteer Fire Department recently responded to a residential structure fire. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and remained on scene for overhaul and hot spots.

Today, on National Volunteer Firefighter Day, we recognize the men and women who answer the call—not for a paycheck, but for their community.

Volunteer firefighters give their time, sacrifice nights, weekends, and time with family, and step forward when their neighbors need them most. We’re proud of every member who serves and grateful for the families and community that stand behind us.
