The City of New Madrid is located within the New Madrid County Enhanced Enterprise Zone which includes all cities, towns and villages in the county except for the southern portion of Sikeston that lies within New Madrid County. Jude Industrial Park located within the zone and containing 4,200 acres is fully developed with all services including gas, electricity, water, sewer, roadways, rail, and a public river dock.

The City of New Madrid is soliciting bids for the:

- Cleaning of City Hall

This will be a contract for the remainder of 2026 through calendar year 2027.

Sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk at City Hall until 10:00 a.m. September 24th, 2026, and opened publicly at said office and read aloud.

The information for bidders, including the contract bid specifications may be examined at City Hall, 331 Main Street in New Madrid or by contacting Paige Keene, City Clerk at 573-748-2866 or by email at [email protected].

Bids should have the vendor’s name and the bid number (Bid #09-09 - City Hall Cleaning, and the company name) located on the outside of the envelope.

🚨 The scheduled outage for this evening at midnight has been delayed to October 1st due to the heat advisory. We will provide more reminders closer to the October 1st date. 🚨

New Madrid Municipal Light & Power will have a scheduled outage beginning at midnight of Monday, August 31st/Tuesday, September 1st. The outage is necessary as we bring a substation online

The outage is expected to last approximately 30 minutes.

We understand that even a short outage can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience as we complete this important work to continually upgrade our electric system.

If anything changes with this schedule, we will notify the public at that time.

Thank you for your understanding.
(Outages such as these must be completed at midnight on the first day of the month for load and metering purposes.)

The New Madrid City Hall and MLP building will be closed this Thursday, August 27th, in preparation for our move to the new City Hall and MLP location.

We will reopen Monday, August 31st, at 7am in our new location: 331 Main St., at the corner of Main St. and Mill St.
