Reminder due to the Labor Day holiday garbage collection will be delayed by one day. Garbage and for this week will be on Friday, September 11, 2026.

Please have all branches and storm debris out at the curb for collection no later than Sunday, 8/30/2026.

The week of 8/31/2026 - 9/4/2026 the city workers will make one more round of collections throughout the city. Once they have collected the debris in your neighborhood they will not be returning.

Lowe’s Home Improvement has graciously donated shovels, rakes, brooms, 5 gallon buckets, contractor bags and kraft paper bags to help with our clean up efforts.

All items are free for the taking for our citizens up at the City Office, 112 W Main St.

Reminder, leaves and sticks placed at the City’s yard waste dump site (100 W Adams St) must be in kraft paper bags or loose, please do not dump plastic bags at this site.

💧 WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST ENDED! 💧

The City of New London would like to let residents know that the water conservation request has been lifted.

The well pump issue has been addressed, and residents may now return to normal water usage. We appreciate everyone’s patience, understanding, and cooperation while we worked through this issue.

💧 WATER CONSERVATION REQUEST – NEW LONDON

The City of New London is asking all citizens to please conserve water until further notice.

We have experienced an electrical failure with one of our well pumps and are currently working to get a replacement pump installed. Until the repair is complete, we need everyone’s help by limiting water usage as much as possible.

Please avoid unnecessary water use for non-essential activities.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation while we work to get the well back up and running. We will post an update once the repair is complete and residents can return to normal water usage.

🚨 **Storm Cleanup Update for New London Residents!** 🚨

To help our community clean up, we will be collecting tree branch debris across town.

🌳 **What you need to do:** Simply gather your fallen branches and tree debris and place them right at the curb.

🚜 **What happens next:** Cleanup crews will be making their way through our neighborhoods to pick it all up!

**A few quick reminders:**

• Please make sure the branches are close to the curb but **NOT** blocking the street, sidewalks, or fire hydrants.

• Have the debris out as soon as possible we have some extra help today from the county.

New London is currently experiencing a power outage, with many electrical lines down and tree branches blocking areas throughout town.

Please use caution and stay away from any downed power lines. Do not attempt to move or touch them, as they may still be energized.
