Another group of New London-Spicer graduates has left with a special achievement to celebrate!

These seniors recently put their hard work and language skills to the test by taking the AAPPL proficiency exam in Spanish. After demonstrating intermediate-level proficiency in reading, listening, writing, and speaking, all nine students earned the Minnesota World Language Certificate!

This accomplishment can translate into college credit and/or workforce certification, making it an incredible achievement with benefits beyond high school. We are so proud of their dedication and success!

As a district, one of our Strategic Plan goals is to maximize academic achievement in a personalized learning environment resulting in all students graduating career, college, and life ready, which is why the district developed our community’s Portrait of a Graduate. This achievement highlights two important Portrait of a Graduate qualities: Global Citizenship and Communicator.

Global citizens value and embrace diverse cultures and perspectives through mutual respect, open dialogue, and empathy while demonstrating civic, social, local, and global responsibility. Communicators develop oral, written, and nonverbal communication skills in a variety of forms and contexts while using communication to inform, instruct, motivate, and connect with others.

¡Felicidades, muchachos! 👏

When it came time for Chromebook collection at school, one of our 4th grade students stepped up in a big way by helping our IT Team scan in devices!

At New London-Spicer, one of our Strategic Plan goals is to maximize academic achievement in a personalized learning environment so all students graduate career, college, and life ready. That vision comes to life through our community’s Portrait of a Graduate.

Her willingness to jump in and help showcases one of NLS’s six Portrait of a Graduate qualities: Leadership. Leaders inspire positive action in others, build relationships through trust and compassion, and work toward both short-term and long-term goals.

We are proud to see our Wildcats demonstrating these important life skills each and every day!

In May our 6th graders had an exciting day of learning beyond the classroom with a field trip to the Minnesota State Capitol and the Science Museum of Minnesota!

Students explored state government firsthand at the Capitol, learning how laws are made and gaining a deeper understanding of civic responsibility. They also spent time at the Science Museum engaging with hands-on exhibits that brought science, technology, engineering, and math to life in fun and interactive ways.

It was a great opportunity to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences, ask questions, and spark curiosity in new settings.
