On Wednesday, September 16, 2026, the Village of New London Water Department will replace a water valve, which will require water service to be shut off in the following area: Grant Street from West Main Street to West Washburn Street. Water service is expected to be shut off at approximately 8:00 a.m. and will be restored when the project is complete. A boil advisory will be in effect for affected homes. We will notify affected residents when the boil advisory has been lifted. We apologize for any inconvenience. This project is weather-dependent, and we will provide updates if any changes are necessary. Thank you.

On Wednesday, September 9th, 2026, the Village of New London Water Department will replace a water valve, which will require water service to be shut off for the following areas: Grant Street from West Main Street to Sherman Street, residents on the south side of Sherman Street, and residents at Londontown Apartments. Water service is expected to be shut off at approximately 8:00 AM and will be restored when the project is complete. A boil advisory will be in effect for affected homes. The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be stopping out at the Firelands Labor Day Festival (Rec Park) this Friday evening from 5:00pm until 9:00pm. Come out get your hotdogs, wiener whistles and pics with the famous Wienermobile!

Update 11:25 am water main is fixed and water restored.

Due to a water main break the water for Foxglove drive has been shut off. Residents will receive hang tags with information regarding the boil advisory that will be in effect . Some residents on County Rd 16 may experience low water pressure until the break has been repaired but will not be under the boil advisory.

The Village of New London is seeking qualified candidates for the part-time position of zoning inspector.

Zoning Inspector responsibilities include: code compliance and enforcement, processing zoning applications and issuing permits, handling zoning inquiries and complaints, conducting routine property inspections, investigating zoning violations.

The zoning inspector must develop and maintain accurate records including correspondence, certificates, and violations. The zoning inspector must be well-organized and able to interpret zoning regulations, write reports, and handle zoning correspondence. The person should excel in working with the public, be a strong team player, and have exceptional communication skills.

Seasonal Mowing Grove Street Cemetery and other Village properties Position

Primary Duties:

String trimming and w**d control.
Brush and debris pickup
Mowing cemetery and other Village properties (as needed)
General grounds maintenance
Other duties as assigned by the public works supervisor.
Must be dependable and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Ability to safely operate string trimmers, push mowers and other landscaping equipment.
Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to obtain reliable transportation to work.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in municipal public works. Successful employees may be considered for future advancement opportunities within the Village as positions become available.



Starting Wage: $13.50 per hour

Hours: Up to 25 hours per week
