Knights Hill Nature Park

Knights Hill Nature Park The 60 acre Knights Hill Nature Park property was donated in 1972 by Lamont Moore. Summer events are offered every Saturday.

Knight's Hill Nature Park is dedicated to the aesthetic appreciation, conservation, and scientific study of nature. It consists of almost 100 acres of natural habitat set aside for the protection of wildlife and as a quiet and peaceful retreat for people. The field house is open in the summer and is manned by our naturalist. Schedules of events and activities are also available there.

This yellow birch tree found on the glen loop while looking to have been damaged by fire is actually a host of the Chaga fungus. The Chaga fungus is a dark brown/black mushroom that resembles charred bark, most often residing on birch species. Harvested mushroom have traditionally been used to make herbal teas.

If you go to the second field at Knights Hill Nature Park you will see some nice flowering Mountain Laurel. To go along with the Mountain Laurel, if you look to towards the tops of the trees you will see our colorful resident Indigo bunting!
