The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has informed the City of New London that the intersection of US 45 and County D near New London will be closed for ten days starting
June 11, 2026 at 6:00 am and reopened by June 21, 2026.

The closure is part of the ongoing construction project in the area. The schedule is dependent on weather conditions and construction progress. Currently, US 45 is closed to traffic but the intersection with South County D has been passable. There will be no posted detour with this closure.

WisDOT reminds motorists that using handheld cell phones in Wisconsin work zones is illegal. Alerts and updates provided via these sites are not intended for use while driving. When driving, your focus should always be on driving.

UPDATE ON OSHKOSH STREET CLOSURE: POSTED 6/5/26 @ 3:30PM

There has been an update to the previous release of information regarding the Oshkosh Street closure for surface asphalt application:

Oshkosh Street will still be closed to through traffic from Monday 6/8 through Friday 6/12, but the asphalt application will now be occurring on Friday 6/12 instead of 6/11. The hard closure for all vehicle traffic will also be on 6/12 instead of 6/11 as previously stated.

Please do not move barricades to access the roadway. Barricades will be removed when traffic is allowed.

The dumpster service the City of New London is hosting for flood affected residents will be closing after June 19, 2026. To make an appointment to drop off accepted items before that date, please call the City’s Public Works Department at 920-982-8503. All previous rules regarding disposal, point of entry, and who can use this service still apply.

Previously the City posted about the 50% Rule and how it applies to residents and business owners who are dealing with flood-related property damage. If you still have questions about the 50% rule, there will be a presentation given on the topic at the Special Plan Commission meeting on 6/4/26 at 5:15pm in the Council Chambers (215 N Shawano St). This presentation will also be recorded and livestreamed via our YouTube Channel so interested parties can watch it at a later date.
