WHAT CAN WE RECYCLE IN PERRY COUNTY? Glass:

-Milk jugs, pop bottles & other
containers with #1 or #2 in recycling
triangle near the bottom of container

el Food Cans:
-All “tin” and steel food cans are accepted

NOTE: Always rinse all food and beverage containers. This helps maintain sanitary working conditions for employees. Labels may be left on. Newspapers:
-Newspapers may be bagged or thrown in loose.
-Slick, glossy magazines are also accepted. Bag glossy separately from non-glossy papers

Corrugated Cardboard & Paperboard box materials:
-All non-colored corrugated boxes. Please flatten boxes to save space! This includes cereal boxes, pop boxes and other thin pasteboard materials. Placing items in bins that cannot recycle causes problems and costs money!! Thanks for recycling the right way! WHAT WE DO NOT TAKE AT THE DROP-OFF BINS...AND WHY

Light bulbs, window glass! All glass is not created equal! The glass in these items is not something you want mixed into new glass bottles!

#3- #7 Plastics, plastic toys, etc…
…other than beverage containers with # 1 or #2 on them! Just as brown glass is different from clear glass, a # 5 plastic tub is not the same as a #1 pop bottle… Different types of plastics cannot successfully be merged together into a usable product… contamination costs the recycling facility time to sort and can cost them by lowering the price they receive for their finished product. Manufacturers end up with contaminated product which costs them money; guess who pays in the end if their final product costs them more? ...You and me!

Congrats to all 2026 Grads!
When hosting a party keep a labeled recycling bin near trash cans. Recycling can very county to county. Labeling recycling bins with the correct materials accepted in Perry Co. will make recycling easier for guests.
If using balloons make sure they are properly tied down. Balloons will only float so high before popping & becoming litter that can harm wildlife/ livestock.
Trash including bags, paper plates, plastics #3- #7, napkins, and food do NOT go in the recycling.
