The multi-jurisdictional, 21-mile, paved Old Plank Road Trail travels from Western Avenue in Park Forest west to Washington Street in Joliet. The trail is part of the Grand Illinois Trail, which travels the northern quarter of Illinois, and the coast-to-coast American Discovery Trail. It is ideal for bicycling, hiking/running, in-line skating, and, in the winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

On Tuesday, September 3, Enbridge Energy will perform pipeline testing that will result in closure of the Old Plank Road Trail from Schoolhouse Road to Owen Road, as well as the connection between the trail and Hickory Creek Junction. Call Enbridge at 855.344.3424 with questions about the testing.

Portions of four District trails will be closed during pipeline testing by Enbridge Energy on September 3.
