Edgewood School held a meaningful morning announcement program to observe September 11th. Fourth-grade teacher Jacklyn Tolkin opened with a soulful rendition of "God Bless America," and our 7th graders led the school in the Pledge of Allegiance. Following a brief message on the bravery and compassion shown by everyday heroes, music teacher Hillyn Natter led students Mei Lin Perrone, Eliza Maeve Borne-Brennan, and Sekai Tengatenga in singing the National Anthem. We wrapped up our time with a moment of silence, remembering that kindness, bravery, and unity make us strong. ❤️

It takes a village, and we have an incredible one at Jepson! ❤️

A heartfelt thank you to the members of the Elm City Club of NANBPWC, Inc., New Haven Fire Department, and State Representative Wilda Bermudez, for bringing so much cheer and positive energy to our students. Seeing your friendly faces as our students arrived was the absolute best way to start the school year. Thank you for championing our youth and cheering them on toward success! 📚🎉✨

To kick off the new school year on a high note, Jepson School staged an assembly celebrating students who had achieved perfect attendance during the first week of school. The event brought the entire student body and staff together to emphasize the importance of showing up every day ready to learn.

Students with perfect attendance were entered into a raffle, with numerous prizes handed out throughout the assembly to reward their dedication and consistency right out of the gate.

Teachers took to the stage to compete against each other in a series of "Minute to Win It" challenges. The crowd cheered as staff members went head-to-head in a Pencil Grab; Rock, Paper, Scissors, a Free-Throw Contest, Cup Stacking, and the Mummy Wrap.

It was a great way to build community
