Owensville, MO, Man Charged In Connection With An Assault/Death Investigation
The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control (DDCC) announces the arrest of Henry W. Lorton, 36, of Owensville, MO, in connection with the September 13, 2026, death of Trey R. Johnson, 21, of Owensville. DDCC was assisted in the investigation by the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office and Owensville Police Department.
On September 13, 2026, the Owensville Police Department requested DDCC conduct a death investigation near the 100 block of North 1st Street, in Owensville. Law enforcement originally responded to the location for a disturbance when they located a deceased male along with three other injured adult victims. The deceased was positively identified as Trey R. Johnson. A next of kin notification has been made, and an autopsy is pending.
DDCC investigators identified Henry W. Lorton as a person of interest in the investigation. Following an interview, Lorton was arrested and transported to the Franklin County Jail, where he was held pending the filing of formal charges.
On September 14, 2026, the Gasconade County Prosecuting Attorney formally charged Lorton with 2nd Degree Murder and three counts of 1st Degree Assault. Lorton is being held at the Franklin Couty Jail without bond.
