Correction Announced By New Haven School

After re-running the GPA computing process before sending out report cards it came to our attention that Kyle Scheer was the actual Salutatorian of the NHHS Class of 2026. Unfortunately, this error came to light after the Graduation ceremony, which meant Kyle was not given the recognition or celebration he deserved on that night. With that being said, we would now like to recognize and celebrate Kyle Scheer as the official Salutorian of the New Haven High School Class of 2026. Congratulations, Kyle.

We want to sincerely apologize to Kyle, his family and the community for this mistake.
We also would like to apologize to Chesni Jones, but also, thank her and commend her on delivering a great speech at the Graduation ceremony.

Kyle will be continuing his education at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado on a full scholarship. His plans include training to be an Air Force Pilot and pursuing a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

🚨🚓NEW HAVEN POLICE DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCEMENT🚨🚓

The City of New Haven is excited to announce the purchase of the building located at 110 West Industrial Drive, formerly known as the previous ambulance building. This facility will become the future home of the New Haven Police Department.

As we share this exciting news, we want to address a question that we know will inevitably arise.

Before misinformation begins circulating, it is important for residents to understand that this purchase is NOT the result of a new tax, tax increase, or any additional request for taxpayer funding.

The funds used for this purchase were already previously collected funds available for Capital Improvement.

This acquisition provides an opportunity to establish a permanent home for the New Haven Police Department while making responsible use of funds that have already been collected. We believe this investment will help us better serve our community for years to come.

We look forward to sharing updates as plans for the transition move forward.

Once some renovations are made and we officially move into the building, we will be having an open house to show the community the brand new, New Haven Police Department. Stay tuned!

Thank you for your continued support of the New Haven Police Department and the City of New Haven.

Give it a share so people know we are moving!

Christopher M. Neace
Chief of Police

Theft Leads To Arrest

On May 30, 2026, Deputies responded to the 4400 block of Glaser Hollow Road regarding a report of a stolen vehicle.

While deputies were en route, the suspect returned to the scene and stole a tractor. The suspect drove the tractor away, collided with a tree, and then fled on foot.

During the investigation, deputies determined that the suspect had driven onto the reporting party's field before becoming stuck. Deputies also learned that the suspect unlawfully entered a neighboring residence and changed clothing before leaving the area.

The suspect later returned to the residence and was confronted by the reporting party. She then stole a tractor, crashed it into a tree, and fled on foot before law enforcement arrived.

Deputies, assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, ultimately located the female suspect hiding in a screened in porch at a nearby residence. She was taken into custody without further incident.

After being evaluated by Osage EMS personnel, the suspect was transported to the Franklin County Sheriff's Adult Detention Center for formal charges.

On May 31, 2026, Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger issued a $50,000 surety bond for Ashley Walser of Rolla, Missouri, on the following charges:

• Burglary, 2nd Degree
• Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, 1st Degree
• Tampering with a Motor Vehicle, 2nd Degree
• Stealing (Value Less Than $150 and No Prior Stealing Offense)
• Stealing (Value Less Than $150 and No Prior Stealing Offense)

This investigation remains ongoing as Deputies continue to investigate additional incidents related to Walser's alleged involvement.

Additional updates will follow as this investigation unfolds.
