We have been informed that a healthcare professional at Bristol County House of Corrections tested positive for COVID-19. This means that this virus is already on the inside and threatens the lives of everyone who remains caged by MA Governor Baker, ICE Field Director Todd Lyons, and especially Sheriff Thomas Hodgson.

We need people to make urgent calls TODAY and demand the release of EVERYONE inside the Bristol Jail.

⚠️ DECLARACIÓN DE PERSONAS ENCARCELADAS EN LA CÁRCEL DEL CONDADO DE BRISTOL UNIDAD ICE A ⚠️

Varios de los miembros de nuestra comunidad inmigrante están encarcelados en centros de detención en estados vecinos. En las últimas 2 semanas, las personas encarceladas en la cárcel del condado de Bristol han publicado declaraciones públicas en las que exponen las terribles condiciones internas, el comportamiento imprudente de los oficiales correccionales que entran y salen de Bristol con síntomas asociados al COVID-19 y sin el uso de cualquier equipo de protección. A las personas en Bristol se les niega el acceso a productos básicos de higiene y no han recibido nada para desinfectar su entorno. Además, todas las personas en Bristol están almacenadas en unidades. La Unidad ICE A incluye 47 detenidos, la Unidad ICE B incluye 57 detenidos; todos los cuales están atestados en un área y no pueden mantener una distancia segura entre ellos como se recomienda. Todos los días, ICE (la migra) continúa realizando nuevos arrestos de inmigrantes y deteniéndolos, a pesar de las declaraciones públicas de que ICE está "limitando" sus arrestos. ⚠️ STATEMENT FROM PEOPLE INCARCERATED IN BRISTOL COUNTY JAIL ICE UNIT A ⚠️

Several of our immigrant community members are incarcerated in detention centers in neighboring states. In the past 2 weeks, people incarcerated in Bristol County Jail have released public statements in which they expose the awful conditions inside, the reckless behavior of Correctional Officers who go in and out of Bristol with symptoms associated to COVID-19 and without the use of any protective gear. People in Bristol are being denied access to basic hygiene products and they have not received anything to sanitize their surroundings. Furthermore, people in Bristol are all warehoused into units. Unit ICE A includes 47 detainees, Unit ICE B includes 57 detainees; all of whom are crowded into one area and are unable to keep a safe distance from each other as recommended. Every single day ICE continues to make new arrests of immigrant folx and detaining them, despite public statements that ICE is “limiting” their arrests. We know this is not true. Just today we received news that NINE new people were arrested and are now being caged in Bristol County Jail.

We stand in solidarity with all of those incarcerated in Bristol County Jail as well as other jails/prisons/detention centers. We demand that officials take immediate action and release people now!

Please help share these statements. People are breaking free from all of the silence despite the threat of being retaliated against.

BREAKING: Advocates are packing courts across the country to witness hearings of asylum seekers without lawyers. 60,000 men, women & children are being forced to dangerously remain in Mexico 1 yr later because of the failed MPP policy. Asylum seekers are currently huddled in makeshift tents in freezing temperatures, children are traumatized witnessing and enduring violence, human rights abuses, and families are still being torn apart. This is a government failure and it is time to restore asylum now!
