Help us hire our next 7th/8th grade math teacher, an important role for our Anti-Bias Anti-Racist public Montessori school, here in New Haven, CT. Do you know anyone who could be a strong fit for this role? Can you repost this and/or share it around?

Our math teacher works on a small team (there’s a math, humanities, and science teacher responsible for a cohort of about 30-35 7th/8th grade students total). They’re responsible to teach the core curriculum with an interdisciplinary lens, to help children engage in our city, to strengthen our microeconomy/farm program (note: we have chickens, we hike in West Rock Park). They are differentiating instruction to ensure growth for all students, collaborating with classroom, level, and school teams to plan curriculum, instruction, and assessment, partnering with families through regular communication to support children’s growth, and participating in professional learning in social emotional skills, academics, and Anti-Bias Anti-Racist work.

This is a 10-month position, a New Haven Federation of Teachers union role, located at 495 Blake Street in New Haven. We want to find someone who is Montessori trained or willing to complete Montessori training in the next two years. The salary range is effectively $58,000-$118,000. A full job description and application can be found on our website: elmcitymontessori.org/jobs.
