We are an interdistrict magnet public high school that offers students four academic paths of study - Digital Media and Technology, Law and Political Science, Allied Health and Science, and Business and Finance.

Metro sophomore and junior students in Chinese meet their Taiwanese pen pals live twice a year, an annual tradition! Last Friday, students discussed their daily lives and culture with their pen pals, which are topics they are learning in class.

Metro’s amazing World Language team created thoughtful and engaging ways for students to understand and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in their classes with student led activities around food, games, and crafts.

Support Metro’s fundraiser! 🧑‍🍳📚

Last year, all Metro staff and students read Family Style by Thien Pham, an award winning graphic novel about a family who immigrated to the US from Vietnam in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The book is structured around food memories, so last October, Metro collected recipes from students and staff. Those recipes were compiled by our yearbook class with the support of several staff members, and we now have our first cook book: Metro Family Flavors!

These beautiful cookbooks are on sale now for $20! All proceeds go to Metro to support school experiences. We accept cash, CashApp, and PayPal.

Huge shoutout to everyone who contributed a recipe or worked on the cookbook over the last year. Your hard work is evident on every page.

🎯 Taking Aim. Reaching New Heights.

The Metro Class of 2027 traded classrooms for the woods of the Connecticut River Valley at Camp Hazen!

From archery and high ropes to cheering one another on, our seniors spent the day challenging themselves, building confidence, and strengthening their community.

Senior year brings new goals, new challenges, and plenty of opportunities to grow.

Music at Metro! 🎶💙

Science teacher and NHPS graduate Lewis Nelken marks Fridays with live music at Metro!

Some Fridays it’s keys, saxophone, drums, or electric oboe. Other Fridays, like this one, it’s acoustic guitar.

Mr. Nelken generously shares his musical talents each week, turning Friday dismissal into a shared moment of joy and connection.

Music matters. And so do the many talents educators bring to Metro and to schools throughout the NHPS family. These gifts strengthen our school communities and help make them places where students and staff feel connected and belong.

A Fall Friday, Metro style! 💙

Metro’s 10th graders spent the afternoon building community beyond the classroom with beach cleanups, friendly football, lawn games, and food trucks. Smiles all around!

A big shout-out to our 10th grade teachers for making this day possible and creating opportunities for students to connect and strengthen Metro!

Metro Mentors is underway. ❤️

Yesterday, our juniors and seniors met with their 9th grade mentees at Wooster Square Park for the Metro Mentor kickoff.

Circling up is foundational at Metro—a way to make space for connection, conversation, reflection, and community.

We’re excited to see these relationships grow as our upperclassmen mentor, encourage, and support our newest Metro students throughout the year.
