Station 11 got to spend the day at Fayette Elementary to go ver fire prevention and the kids got to see all the trucks and equipment. This week is Fire Prevention Week up October 10th. So as we told all the kids test and clean your smoke alarms and don't forget to change the battery.

On October 5. 2026 at 1701hr E-11, T-11, T-12, R-11, C-11, T-13, T-41, Transcare, UAV-4 and on scene request for Black Diamond T-82 responded to Sherburne and Trinity for a report of a barn on fire. On arrival of E-11 & T-11 the barn was heavily involved with partial collapse of the roof. Heavy master streams were used early in the operation as a defensive attack was ordered by command with a tanker shuttle for water supply. The barn was full of 100 round bales of hay and 2 tractors. Once the fire was completely knocked down and the barn collapsed heavy equipment was brought in to remove the bales of hay to the pasture with no other surrounding structures. With the assistance of UAV-4 (Drone) from the Vigo County Drone team in which we just trained with them 2 weeks ago we were able to locate all thermal hot spots for extinguishment. *Note the hay bales will probably smolder for days. We will respond back as needed. But there is no longer anymore danger to life or property. All Station 11 apparatus completed at 0107hr this morning.

This morning E-11 responded to Sandford Ave & Pottsville for standby while a heavy wrecker recovered a triaxle dump truck in case the diesel fuel tanks started leaking. The recovery was successful and with out incident.

Yesterday (9/2/26) E-11 responded to 8600 block of N. Whispering Wood Place after a contractor struck a gas main. E-11 stood by until Center Point Emergency Response team mitigated the incident

This morning little after 9:30 R-11 & E-42 responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Bolton Road just east of US HWY 150. Prior to our arrival the driver was able to self extricate and was checked by medics with minors injuries and refused transport.
