The Friends were very excited to be part of a hike with Governor Tony Evers on Friday!

Park Manager Melissa Burns led the hike on the Basswood (hiking) and Limburger (mountain bike) trails. The enthusiastic group included State Rep Jenna Jacobson, DNR staff Brian Hefty and Kevin Swenson among many others. The Friends appreciates our DNR staff's continuous work to advance improvements in the park such as MTB trails, additional parking and campground expansion. The Knowles-Nelson Stewardship program (supported by Rep. Jacobsen and Gov. Evers) is also contributing $40,000 to building new mountain bike trails.

Thanks to everyone who attended our candlelight snowshoe/hike Saturday. We enjoyed perfect winter conditions and went through a good amount of marshmallows and hot chocolate!

If you missed out making a donation you can do so at newglaruswoods.org. Our projects include replacing our aging play structure and adding mountain bike trails.

Thanks again!

We had a record turnout for our fifth annual trail run in the park last Saturday, August 17! Humid air was offset by moderate temps (for August). Thanks to all those who raced, volunteered, tried Limburger, listened to the Alphorns and came out to watch! Also huge thank you to our local sponsors. Everyone's combined efforts helped us raise $10,000 for more trails in the park! Thank you all!!
