Work has begun for the project at memory park. The contractor is currently removing the old sidewalks. Please exercise caution in the area. This project was possible thanks to a grant from DCNR.

Around 11 am today, a crew of volunteers will be taking the snowflakes down for the season along Ligonier Street. Please use caution.

Lawn waste pickup will resume for the season. Pickup will be on Tuesdays weather permitting. All lawn waste must be brought to the curb, grass and leaves bagged, and no limbs over 4” inches diameter. Absolutely zero trash will be taken. If you have questions, feel free to call the Borough office at 724-235-2000.

Attention residents: the sidewalk on the east side of the subway(Somerset Trust and Stuart Funeral Home side) is currently closed. The snow is piled up on the ends from PennDOT clearing Ligonier Street. Please use the west side sidewalk(Fire Hall Side) until we can get the snow cleared.

With the predicted weather forecast Sunday into Monday, the street crew has some asks to help prepare. If possible, please move vehicles off streets, we understand if it’s not possible. Make sure garbage cans, dumpsters are pushed back away from the street. PLEASE MAKE FIRE HYDRANTS ACCESSABLE IN CASE OF EMERGENCY. We will do the best we can with the equipment and crew that we have.
